They only showed little bits of his pieces, but it sounded like all-new jokes...whivch is pretty exciting. I didn't even know he was working on new shit.
But has anyone seen or heard the act? Does he still have it, or is he finally losing his edge...

It was on HBO, I think. I dunno.
EDIT: I know it's lame, but I don't really care for him anymore. He's not as funny as everyone makes him out to be.
I don't know anyone who likes it. Personally I think it's pretty lame, but I'm not really a Dane Cook fan and neither are most of my friends so I can't really say whether or not a Dane Cook fan would like it.

I love that when lots of people like a comedian, they aren't funny anymore until 10 years after their hayday.
Man, Seinfeld is great.

That's not true. I wished everyone listened to people like Carlin, Black, and Cross. The problem is, Dane Cook is basically a funny frat boy with a microphone.
I do like his 2 albums, but some of the things he does (run around on stage like a moron, repeat things over and over, and pronounce things in a different manner) annoy me.

I don't like George Carlin as a comedian. He's a smart guy, but he really isn't funny. I've talked with the guy before, too. He's a really nice old man.
Lewis Black is a genius. I do realize he probably wouldn't be where he is if it weren't for people like Carlin, but I think he is infinitely better. But I also really enjoy Dane Cook's utter stupidity. And most likely, if I were to do standup myself (which has been a new year's resolution for about 3 years), it'd be stupid too.
My point is that it isn't impossible to like smart things and stupid things at the same time.

THe thing is, you appear to be much smarter than Dane Cook. I think your jokes would be extremely random, but you wouldn't have the attitude he has.
Anyways, I don't think older Carlin is all that funny, but anything you listen to him isn't just made to be funny, but entertaining. It's basically spoken word in a comedic format. The way he annunciates and combines words and sentences is amazing, which is also apparent in Lewis Black's routine (along with their great timing).
Overall, they put on a better show and attempt to inform, while Dane is a court jester.

Meh, Harmful If Swallowed was great, and Retaliation was only slightly lesser. But I thought there were only a couple good gags in Vicious Circle.

Not really on topic, but for some reason I thought Dane Cook was hilarious, until I actually saw one of his specials. Then for some reason he just started to suck...

His two albums are good, but I laughed like twice watching Vicious Circle (COMCAST ON DEMAND, TRY IT TODAY). Lewis Black is infinitely better and is the king of everything

Meh... all that guy does is yell. I guess if you think angry people are funny?
Anyways, i liked it. It used a lot of old jokes from past routines, but the new stuff is pretty funny. I enjoyed it, and if you liked any of his other stuff, you should like this one. Its funny, though; everyone here was on cook's nuts a while back, he just got more mainstream so now he's not cool.

That's what happened to me, basically. He got really annoying when I saw him perform on some special.

Wow, you don't know how wrong you are.
Sure, he yells, but that isn't what makes him funny. I saw him live, and he was fantastic.

Just like you dont like the way Cook acts onstage, i dont like Black's yelling. He also looks like he's got something shoved up his ass the entire time, and he gets all red and and crazy...
Hey, but then again, i hate mustard.

I used to find the man really funny, like that rerun of his standup from years ago that they always have on comedy central, but the HBO thing, I watched about 10 minutes of it before I had to turn it off it sucked so bad

My friend is a huge Dane Cook fan, and he loves this DVD.
Thats all I can say, I didn't enjoy it that much when he showed it to me. I like the stand up comedy aspect of the show, that is IF they would actually show a whole act!! It's just a reality show of him and 4 other comedians on tour, and their wacky adventures that wouldn't happen if they weren't doing a show about the tour... It really blows IMO, and I do like Dane Cooks comedy.

That's Tourgasm, not Vicious Circle.
