i saw it a few weeks back in imax 3d. it was really gorgeous. they used some kind of new 3d technique that made the whole movie in 3d, but really subtly so. it was the most immersive movie experience i've had, and this is coming from a guy who's seen honey i shrunk the audience and whatever michael jackson 3d movie they had at disneyland way back in the day. and i've gone on those rides where you watch a movie and the chair moves
the plot wasn't exceptional, but i still thought they did a good job with it. not really going to spoil things here, though the trailers essentially showed everything that happens in the movie anyway. to me it was basically pocahontas meets star wars. and i loved both pocahontas and star wars, so i thought it was really cool
i've heard they're gonna make a trilogy of this movie, and that'd be pretty cool. if they do i'll see each of them in imax 3d, because it truly was beautiful. i'd like to see more of this filming technique, whether they do make more avatars or not

Fuck no, my friends who saw it basically said that its Pocahontas in 3-D. Looks like big budget trash for the masses. I'm not surprised that you liked it.

are you retarded or did you just not read my post?
i said it's pretty much pocahontas meets star wars. my entire point was that the movie wasn't incredible but the visuals were. missing out on it might turn out to be like missing out on the first color movie. if you're too kewl to watch it then so be it, but there's no reason to act elitist about it just because your friends didn't like the movie. tell me more about them btw they sound really interesting
