Anyway it was such a good movie. That Mittal guy who looks like Michael Jackson and played older Salim may have singlehandedly crushed the Indian FOB image made famous by Apu from the Simpsons. He was so fucking badass. Actually the stereotype will probably still be there but yeah that's some gangsta shit. And then there's some other shit thrown in for everyone else. That's my take on that movie. Enjoy.

I just finished it and I don't see why it won so many awards. Sure, it was good, but not fantastic.

I think most movies are implausible IIRC. Well maybe Wall-E is the most realistic movie I've ever seen in my life and then the Dark Knight...

Pretty shitty comparisons considering those movies establish rules in their own worlds and create believability even though their worlds are fantastical. Slumdog presents a rather realistic depiction of the slums in Mumbai in flashbacks and then a really annoying magical realism device in the millionaire game that defies plausibility even in the movie realm. Don't get me wrong I liked it, but I didn't believe it.

No I actually get what you're saying. If you're talking about the premise wherein he has a life experience for every question then that is hard to believe. But then again that's the whole point the movie was trying to make. A slumdog doing the unthinkable. But if it's something else then I don't understand what it is.

I don't know what to make of this movie. The flashbacks are great, but the game show and love scenes were very cheesy and implausible. Then again, without those elements, this movie wouldn't really have a purpose sooooo...

If I had seen this movie not knowing about people cumming their pants about it, I probably would've enjoyed it much more. This movie was a huge let-down considering the praise it's been getting. Also, the dance thing at the end was very, VERY gay.

Oh and was anyone reminded of Requiem for a Dream anytime the Millionaire game show scenes came up? I dunno, maybe it was me trying to find something GOOD about this movie during those parts.

It's a good date movie too. >_>
