Chad Pennington should have won. No other player turned a 1-15 club into a playoff club.

Why? They won 9 in a row mostly due to him.
They also went 4-4 in the first half mostly due to him. I'm sorry, but one strong half does not an MVP make.
If Peyton Manning's name wasn't Peyton Manning, the award would have gone to Chad Pennington, DeAngelo Williams or Adrian Peterson. Probably Pennington if his name wasn't Chad Pennington.
The NFL is a pure politics league. Peyton Manning has the reputation of the best QB since Marino, so the media sees him in rose-tinted goggles. There's always an excuse when he plays poorly, and when he plays well it's because he's Peyton Manning.
Chad Pennington has the reputation of an injury-ridden QB that can't throw deep. When he does well, it's always because the team around him is good, and he's a game-manager. When he does poorly, it's to be expected of him.
Pennington should have gotten MVP. Kerry Collins should have gotten comeback player of the year. Peyton Manning could MAYBE get offensive player of the year, but I'd give that one to Peterson.
