What an embarrassing few years. Ohio State played well the past few years and had unlucky, high-profile games. This year, we aren't good, plain and simple. Pryor's talent covered many offensive holes. Stubborn coaching fucked us the rest of the way. Barring some huge fluke, Texas is going to annihilate us.

Penn State looked like they might herald a new era with a successful modern offense, but blew themselves all over the Rose Bowl. Michigan will be good if Rich Rod sticks to his guns, but I have a feeling there will be too much pressure for short-term results for that to happen. Wisconsin had some promise but couldn't get themselves organized. Everyone else is completely hit-or-miss, which means nothing these days.

There's a wealth of high school talent in the midwest, but kids are going to start looking to other schools after seeing how archaic the conference has proved itself. I'm sick of hearing about how the SEC is a divine gift to the world, about how the Big XII is a collection of offensive bazookas, and how the Pac-10 is the best since they won all their bowl games. But I have no room to talk, and nothing to back up what has become simple conference bias.

Iowa won their bowl game, I don't give a shit about the rest of the conference, we got the job done. We also beat Penn State in the regular season and should have been a 10 win team easily. Not to mention Shonn Green should have been in the final heisman voting and was f'd out of that.

Fucking Tressel and his Boeckman plan was the first drive (EVEN FIRST PLAY! So no surprise in the middle of a drive) and then they didn't go back to it till the last quarter. ANd why was the plan for Boeckman to just air it out every time? He's got a great arm! He was making beautiful throws.

It's just so annoying to see Tressel's terrible offensive play calling (he even said himself when asked why he doesn't hire someone to run the offense, "I'm afraid my ego won't let me do that")

I will end this with a final fuck the coach staff of OSU. They buckeyes outplayed Texas the whole game except those two drives Colt had when our offense went 3 and out twice and the defense was tired.

Tressel needs to stop being a fucking retard and realize a plethora of field goals against a high powered offense doesn't mean shit in a game like this. We all knew Texas would get their numbers eventually, and yet tressel still wouldn't make some decent play calling to complete a drive.

4th and 2 you say? Well it's a 54 yard field goal, we must kick the field goal...it'll put us up 6-3 at the half....that's a sure thing.

Also my rant is a rant, I'm not taking anything away from Texas. Solid defense (I won't say great cause the OSU offense is just horridly coached and executed), and also Colt took advantage of a tired defense because our offense couldn't stay on the field. Tressel is universally regarded as a good coach. Ever think that maybe he made the right calls and the team just failed to execute? Because that's sure what it looked like to me.

Running down the middle on a 2nd and long is not a good call.

Dude, have some common sense. ANd I mean that in the nicest way possible so please don't get upset. You have the lead by more than a touchdown. All you need to do is keep them out of the endzone. You should ALWAYS have 2 guys on the goal line protecting that shit. It's common sense. You don't blitz when you ahve the lead and there is only 20 seconds in a game left.

How can the players fail to execute on an all out blitz? They never had a chance. Colt was gonna get the ball out before he even was done taking his 3 steps backwards. Just about every sack or hit on colt in the backfield was result of good coverage in the game , not from blitzing 8 in the box. But that's besides the point, making a defensive call like that is assinine. There was no reason to have man coverage on a spread wide receiver formation. There's a reason they were one of the best offensive passing teams all year and there was a reason they were the best team in CFB that executed the big plays. It's because their wideouts and QB are fuckign sick. You have to protect the goal line there. Any coach with a fucking idea of how football works shouldn't expect their defensive backs to cover man to man on a long drive like that where the defense is tired. I can talk to any person with an idea of how football works and they will agree with me.

Listen Tressel is a fine coach, but they will never beat a team that has talent on offense and knows how to use it with the stupid defensive play calling and the conservative play calling. Cause teams in college football that are high powered offenses will get their points, I can guarantee you that. A 6-3 halftime lead ain't shit against a Texas/OU/Florida/Georgia/USC/Penn St.....

He's got to learn how to use the offensive ttalent in a more effective way. That's just not me who thinks this....it's everyone that follows College Football.

I said on the final OSU drive it was 2nd and short with about 2:25 left. If they just get the first down and dive on the ground they can run the clock out and waste texas' two timeouts and then kick the field goal. Seriously...all they had to do was get the first and just take 3 knees. Would have brought the clock to atleast 1:15. WOuld have rested the defense to make a stand.

But I"m not too upset about that becaues not many coaches or players think like that. Although like I said earlier, Westbrook in the NFL was smart enough to do something similar.

And I think Tressel is fine coach but he doesn't use the talent as well as he should.

If I were a wide receiver, I would stay the fuck away from the Buckeyes. I feel sorry for Cris carters son. Our leading wide receiver this year had like 25 receptions. Chris Wells didn't even carry the ball that often throughout the the year due to injuries.....

Just to give you some perspective on OSU and offense.....

When Troy Smith threw for 30 TD's, thta was a school record. A school as storied and highly esteemed as OSU has only 30 TD's throwing in a season....wow.

Sanchez threw for over 30 and it was a "bad season" for a USC QB.

I can see in the past OSU never was really about offense, but now they have the talent. And ever since 06 they have been going backwards offensively. If you can't see that then you are in denial. And spare me the Freshmen is a freshmen excuse. Play Boeckman then. I've seen plenty of Freshmen tear it the fuck up in college football. Players that aren't half the recruit Pryor was.

See Colt McCoy in 06. Bradford last year. Boise State's QB this year was awesome....plenty have played great as freshmen. Pryor doesn't even look like he matured this year which is the saddest part. It's not that hard to teach a kid proper footwork and it doesn't even appear anyone did that all year. Bring in Bauserman for petes fucking sake and throw Pryor at wideout cause I'm sick and tired of watching a retard offense.

I don't care if that 06 team was stacked. cause in reality they weren't that much better offensively than the OSU team of now. Troy Smith was the only clear cut advantage. Robiskie and Hartline are as good as Ginn and Gonzalez. Not to mention a much better RB now than Pittman was.

It's just sad to see an offense go backwards with such talent.....so sad.

My comment was in response to The Clown about the right calls. The play I'm referring to happened towards the end of the first half, and really could have resulted in a bigger lead at the half.

I see FLorida, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, heck even Penn St this year....and they know howt to run an offense.

Even against USC, Penn St played well. They just had unlucky calls. A fumble recovery that was taken away, a long bomb taken away, and I forget there was another huge penatly that costed them. Also the fumble at the end of the first half that was like a 60 yard rush that ended up in USC scoring with less than a minute left.

Those teams know how to use the talent around them. heck even LSU and Georgia run a good offense when they don't have half the talent OSU has. It's so frustrating to watch his bullshit playcalling.
