Beaten in 14 seconds no less.
Imagine what Shamrock would've done to him.

I liked him better when he was beating up people in the ghetto.

I still like Kimbo, man accepted the fight an hour or two before it was to happen. Shit like that doesn't roll in MMA. He was spanked pretty easily though. He has a lot to learn still.
I still wanna see him vs. Shamrock sometime.

Shamrock has gone so downhill in the past few years, and he was never great.
Anyway, that was a disappointing fight. I've never seen anything to indicate that Kimbo's great, but anybody can have that kind of bad luck, so I don't think this fight proves anything.
P.S. Kimbo got over $600,000 dollars for that fight.

Shamrock would of gotten him in the ankle lock and left it there.

Shamrock would of gotten him in the ankle lock and left it there.
Shamrock would have slipped and Kimbo would have beaten him mercilessly.
Shamrock is not the fighter he used to be. He's lost every one of his last 5 fights, two to the also old Kazushi Sakuraba and Tito Ortiz (side note: how the hell is this considered a legit rivalry? Shamrock has never beaten Ortiz.) He lost to Rich Franklin in the Ultimate Fighter finale, and he lost to Robert Berry. I don't even know who Robert Berry is. Shamrock's last win was in 2004.
EliteXC was counting on Kimbo getting a win against a well-known commodity, just like he did against Tank Abbot. It's enough for people who don't know anything about the sport to say "this guy beat Tank Abbot AND Ken Shamrock? Man, he must be good. I'll have to watch his next fight." And then EliteXC's ratings go up. Instead what happened was he got beaten by a relative unknown, and now their biggest shot at becoming popular looks like a bitch unless they can get some really good PR spin going. If they wanted a good fight, they would have put Kimbo against Frank Shamrock, who's actually had some recent success. Instead they went with Ken because they knew Kimbo would handle him. At the startup stage of an organization like this, your goal isn't to put on good fights. It's to gain name recognition.

I'll still watch Kimbo and I think he's much better than what happened....
But I will say this. The fight was weird...when that guy was punching Kimbo, Kimbo's neck muscles are so strong that his neck never gave and his head didn't move an inch, it was like fake punches ( Iknow they were real). LIke it didn't even seem like he was getting hit. And the initial hit I stil ldon't see how that knocked him on the ground on all fours and why he stayed on all fours for so long....I've seen him take bigger hits.
So I don't know what to make of the fight. I think he's much better than the fight indicates. Maybe still overrated relative to MMA athletes but I think he's better.
Also props to the other guy....under sized by 30 pounds, luckily got back into a fight last minute, had like a huge reach disadvantage....mad props to staring down that scary black guy.

I hear a lot of talk about the fight was fixed? I just think Kimbo had a bad day, and Seth got lucky.

If you watch a lot of Kimbo's street fights, he falls like that a lot. The difference is that in those fights, they're not allowed to do anything once he's down. In MMA, it's fucking on.
Kimbo just isn't very good. Not that I'd fuck with him personally, but as an MMA fighter, he's just not that good at all.

It was pretty sad and has probably ruined Slice's MMA career and was very bad for Elite XC's business, this was the guy they were building their product around.
Kimbo basically was beat by a guy who couldn't cut it in the UFC and this obviously isn't some break out for Petruzelli. Kimbo was a novelty and in his mid 30s for that matter, there wasnt going to be a whole lot to come out of him.

It's also one thing to beat up a bunch of fat losers on the street and call yourself tough, and then have to step in the ring with a bunch of trained fighters who routinely kick other trained fighters' asses.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
He fought a bunch of dumb black crackheads. I doubt anyone he fought was anywhere close to as trained and in shape as most of these mma guys. Plus he has no ground game at all. He's doomed.
Now Gina. Oh my god that bitch is so hot. She beat that other girls ass. You never see hot badass bitches.

EliteXC declared bankruptcy. They're officially done. No other league wants Kimbo, so his career is over at least for now. UFC won't do women's fights, so Gina Carano is out of work right now too unless she wants to go overseas.

I was really turned off by women's MMA anyway. Not only that but the quality of it is so bad. The only good part of Gina Carano and MMA was the weigh-in.

UFC just bought EliteXC and the bald guy owner said Kimbo will fight only if he goes on Ultimate Fighter. He then proceeded to say Kimbo will not win (obvy)........

Anyone who cares probably already knows this, but that fight was pretty much fixed for Kimbo to win and he still lost. That's pathetic. Petruzelli had in his contract stipulations not to take the fight to the ground, to stand and trade blows with Kimbo. The best part is that he still got all of his bonus money for meeting those conditions because he never took Kimbo down...Kimbo just fell, and then Petruzelli stood over top of him. If EliteXC gave the same conditions to Shamrock, he would have been dead in the water against Kimbo, which is, of course, what they were counting on.
