ECU just beat Virginia Tech to open the season with the first upset.

Pitt is down by 10 with 5 minutes to go against Bowling Green.

Clemson vs Bama @ the Georgia Dome tonight.
Zebrahead

Ducks rolled Washington 44-10. biggrin.gif

OSU wins an easy one over Youngstown State, but are looking in great form.

The rest of the Big 10 didn't do a thing to help the conference look good.
YoungWhipperSnapper
Ohio almost upset Ohio State but the Buckeyes pulled it off in the 4th quarter.

ECU vs WVU up next and it should be a good one.

UF and Da U later tonight.
Zebrahead

Ducks beat the shit out of Utah State, was fun.

ECU crushed WVU, they might be the BCS buster.

Washington got screwed by the refs against BYU.
The Clown
My school, Ball State, beat Navy by two scores on ESPN Friday. Nate Davis looked good in the passing game, Dante Love looked great, and despite a few big runs by Navy, the defense shut them down for most of the game. Considering that last year Navy ran for over 500 total yards on them and the game was a shootout, that's pretty encouraging.

I'm looking for Ball State to play in the MAC Championship this year and go to a bigger bowl game than the International Bowl, which they went to last year.
Da Bears
Beanie Wells I am hearing rumors, NOT to play against USC saturday...

Should be a great game still.

Zeebs, prepare for the wrath of the boiler makers...as they boil your ducks into some kind of duck stew...sorry I know that was lame...but so is there team name.
Zebrahead

Purdue was picked as what, the last-place team in the Big Ten this year?

I don't think the Ducks have to worry about anything. wink.gif
YoungWhipperSnapper
That USC/Ohio State game was a lot of hype over nothing. Ohio State should schedule more games like this so they can get checked before going to the title game.

Whoever was in charge of Cal agreeing to a noon kickoff time should be fired. I think they started the game 9 AM PST since it was in the east coast. MD would have lost if the game went on 10 minutes longer.
Himura Kenshin
Saw that coming.

THey already have plenty of big games coming over the next 10 years.
Zebrahead

LOL USC!
YoungWhipperSnapper
USC what the hell is wrong with you? This is what's great about Thursday night college football.

EDIT: What the hell is wrong with Florida, Georgia, Clemson, Wake Forest, etc, etc. This is what's great about College Football.

What the fuck happened to our offensive line? It's the same freaking line from last year, but they've all managed to get worse.

Pryor has adjusted well to college football, but he's still got plenty of growth ahead. He'll be a fiend in the next two years.

Other than that, I'm really not impressed with how we're playing. Yeah, we beat Minnesota without much trouble and put in the B-team, but there were so many potential scores that just didn't happen for us. I'd be happy with a Rose Bowl, but we need to get back in the game first.

The O-Line is overrated. Barton sucks, if that mother fucker jumps offsides in another big game I'm going to personally charge the field and kick him in the nuts. Most overrated piece of shit ever.

ANd Pryor looked fine..two years my ass, he'll do fine right now.

Still worried about Penn St....they might give OSU a match...hopefully they lose some games so incase they beat us we can still get to the rose bowl bc I want USC with Pryor and Beanie on the fucking field. I don't care if it's home field for USC and a recipe for another loss, I refuse to bend over and take that 35-3 loss...that was fucking pathetic. I know the buckeyes are much better than that shit show.

Fucking penalties are pissing me off. Fucking Tressels retarded play calling and lack of sticking to the running game is pissing me off. Fucking defensive tackles being undersize is also pissing me off. ANd the retarded cover 2 defense that we always run is fucking pissing me off. USC players even said that they didn't show anything knew on defense and were not surprised by anything, I beleive them 100%.

IT's a waste of such talented kids....it boggles my mind sometimes the coach on the Buckeyes... Boeckman is out against pryor, but that kid I guarantee would start just about any other college. That line needs to suck it up and start blocking some people. Only our stupid fans would boo Boeckman when he's been a solid QB.

I've been saying it for like 2 years now....OSU made a wrong decision....should have sent Tressel to UC and kept D'Antoni....look what D'Antoni did too UC last two years, look how good MIch St is right now. Look at the defensive schemes he had in 2002...

Also I'm tired of all the fucking idiotic fans comparing the buckeyes defense in the last 3 years to the defense when they won the NC. These guys are a bunch of pussies. Our linebackers don't hit hard. Our secondary is absolute shit at covering guys for more than one second.....I have been watching the 2002 NC teams' defense and man were they scary...like the Ravens in the NFL. Hit hard, covered well, and always put pressure even if they rushed only the front 4.

Sorry guys, I had to rant about OSU pissing me off this year....
Da Bears
oh yea...one more thing...how the fuck did Bama jump teams like Texas, LSU, and MIzzo...

Come on...beating auburn is as good as beating Georgia. Albeit Bama did it in style.

Stop giving Bama credit for beating Clemson, they suck. It's the fucking ACC, they pick their preseason favorite at random in all honesty....shit they haven't even won the ACC championship in almost 20 years and they were ranked like 8 at the start of the season...didn't do mcuh last year either to be ranked that high...but whatever...

LoL at the ACC/Big east....their top 25 teams are 23. Uconn, 24. Va Tech, 25. Wake

ANd LoL at pac10 having only 1 top 25 team.

Zebrahead

Uh, Pac-10 has two ranked teams. Oregon is ranked again now too.
The Clown
Ball State: 5-0, ranked 29th. Beat IU, first victory against a BCS-conference team in school history. They're doing very well for a MAC school.
YoungWhipperSnapper
Thursday is where ranked teams go to die
Grimes
OSU pulls out a win against Wisconsin. Looked good on the first drive and the last drive, and spent the rest of the game playing like shit.

I just don't get how a veteran team got so much worse from last year.

WE started hot and rode out the wins even though we were playing like crap (Boeckman ended very bad last season) and our team was all Chris Wells last year tearing it up.
The Clown
Ball State football in the Top 25 for the first time in school history.

Fuck yeah.
Grimes
OSU beats Purdue. Once again, we can't finish in the red zone. We're gonna have to shape up in the next few weeks or Penn State is going to tear us up.

Michigans loses 10-13 to Toledo? WTF failure.

Texas beats Oklahoma in what looked like an awesome and exciting game. Wish I could've seen it.

Da Bears
Some good football. OSU looked pretty lame on offense. Pryors needs to stop with the big losses, it's hurting any chance of scoring in the red zone

LoL at Michigan, the stadium was errupting with applause when they showed their loss on the scoreboard.
Himura Kenshin
<- called the Michigan loss.

When will the egotistical Mich fans realize that they weren't going to go 8-4 this season?
The Clown
Pryor is a way talented QB. If this is how he plays as a true freshman, I can't wait to see what he'll be able to do as a senior (if he's not in the NFL by then.)

He has some mistakes he needs to work on, like those huge losses, but it's only his first year with this offense, and he's playing in a BCS conference.
Grimes
For the first time all season, OSU played how they are "supposed" to. Although there were still some elementary penalties that should've been avoided, and MSU had some major breakdowns, we played well and might have a chance to do well against Penn State next week.

I had the pleasure of being at the game in East Lansing today, and I must give MSU credit for a lovely campus. Perfect football (and band) weather, which made the trip even more enjoyable.

Penn State started weak with a 7-17 score against Michigan, but remembered who they were and destroyed the Wolverines 46-17. I'm guessing they will hop Alabama for the #2 spot.

Fuck USC. 69-0 is classless and unnecessary.

Football!
Grimes
OSU 45-10 Northwestern. Not our shining moment in terms of class (successful fake punt while ahead, TD at the end when the game was sealed), but I do think we needed it to compete with the score runners we're up against in the rankings. Another reason the BCS is flawed.

Texas Tech is gonna blow it tonight.
kyle
I would love to see Texas Tech play against Washington State's defense.

It's always hard to know what to expect when the emotion is so high on both sides, but we made them our bitch. I'm so glad Boeckman got to redeem himself in the eyes of the stadium at his last home game.

I know once Rodriguez has a few years to mold the team to his liking they'll be back in the national spotlight. Until then, lolz.
YoungWhipperSnapper
If I were RichRod I would have retained Lloyd Carr's OC until I get AT LEAST a QB that can scramble.

WVU is wearing their all white jersey against USF so they can honor Pat White's career as a moutaineer. USF agreed to wear green, no problems.

Just thought I'd mention that.

ALso TExas should be ahead of Oklahoma...remember who said this...I was the first!

Yeah, that's pretty awesome.

I hate the Trojans, but I like Pete Carroll in the same way that I like Tony Dungy...he's an all-around good guy, even if he coaches a team I hate.

And Florida wins.

Fuck the SEC.

WHat Grimes said. More importantly though, fuck FLorida.
The Clown
You know, everyone gets mad about the SEC love fests, and yet year after year the SEC dominates to opposition.
Grimes
Not really. A few years ago, LSU was denied an outright national title because the SEC was too weak. They're the hot topic the past few years. Yeah, they've been dominant (although Alabama's loss is a setback), but frankly, people just like watching high-risk football.

I meant recently. However, they have won the past three National Championship games, and are undefeated as a conference in National Championship games. Since the turn of the century, the SEC team has only lost in the Sugar Bowl 3 times, and one of those losses was by a field goal margin. As much as people hate to admit it, saying the SEC is the best conference in football is totally justified in today's game.
Da Bears
Man I think the SEC top team is a great team year in and out.

But to suck the dick of the entire conference is total bullshit....

i'll give you a prime example....

Vanderbilt starts like 5-0, and they jump all the way to being ranked 12.....that's a fucking joke and that's just people hyping any team in the SEC whenever possible. Just because they beat Auburn, the same AUburn team that beat Miss St (I think it was miss st) 3-2 in a great barn burner earlier in the season.

So many teams starts 5-0 because of cupcake scheduling...and yet a team like Vanderbilt, who has never ever proven shit on the field gets to be ranked higher than so many other worthy teams...

Long story short, Vanderbilt loses like 6 out of their last 7 games, which also includes losing to Duke.

Florida is a great team. But LSU/Georgia/Bama weren't that great this year. Tennessee sucked and so did Auburn.

They weren't that good this year.

I'll give props to Bama, they did their job except losing to Utah. But FLorida and Bama were the only two teams that lookd good in the SEC. The rest were meh in my mind.

Himura Kenshin
Utah. Nuff said.
YoungWhipperSnapper
Pac 10 went 5-0 in the bowl season. Best conference ever.
