shitty draft this year
merriweatherpostpavillion
The draft is shitty every year. In fact, every sport's draft is agonizing to watch. ESPN has an hour preview show, not to mention weeks upon months of previous discussions on SportsCenter, and then we are forced to sit through monotonous babble about why so-and-so should/shouldn't have picked a certain player. I like to do a little something called "Waiting till the draft is over and going online to see who got picked and where and make my own judgements about whether or not is was a right pick".

bobcats passed up brook lopez, pretty depressing

but at least we got an inside presence in ajinca! in like two or three years when he plays outside of france

Do you guys mean shitty as in the show is boring? Because if so, I agree...

Or shitty because the talent was shitty? Because the bulls got Rose!

I might become a closet Memphis fan, just like the Blazers.

Blzers got Oden (OSU Alum) and Memphis have Mike Conley (also OSU alum)...wait I guess they aren't alum....but anyways they were my two favorite players to play for OSU and now they are on young hot teams.

Oden's with Lamarcus, Brandon Roy...

ANd now Conley is with OJ Mayo after the trade and Rudy gay. Two exciting young, and talented teams. Should be sweet.

Bulls are still number one of course.

The bulls better be good next year...that's all I'm sayin.
Tiz
don't forget the blazers getting bayless as well as nicolas batum, and the grizzlies getting darrell arthur who probably stayed on the board longer than he should have

the blazers will be such an exciting team to watch, i'm looking forward to it

much more exciting than the bobcats

fuck Derrick Rose, the Bulls should have taken Beasley. This is retribution for the Blazers taking Bowie over Jordan.

If they got Beasley then when would Deng and Tyrus be able to play? All three are athletic and 6-8ish. Atleast they replace Hinrich.

Beasley is better than both of them without stepping on an NBA court.

Assuming Oden returns healthy and is a beast as expected. the Blazers are going to kill next year. And only get better.

Pritchard stockpiled draft picks for next year to trade up and steal all the North Carolina guys who will be leaving. Bank on it.

That's a big assumption. A kid who's 19 and never played a second in the NBA is better than Luol Deng, a 20 ppg player. Yes i Know Beasley is more skillfull and has the potential to be a KG esque player and put up 24 pts/12 reb per game....but it hasnt' happened yet.

ANd it's pretty stupid for the bulls to pick up a player to replace players that are still developing. Deng is only 23 and Tyrus is 21. Beasley probably won't be putting up as good as numbers as Deng for a good two years in my opinion. And by that time Tyrus should be coming around too. Once again, let me reiterate that Beasley has more potential than these two, but Tyrus and Deng are still great players and overcrowding them at the 6-9 height would be stupid.

Now their guards aren't as solid as their forwards. Kirk, Gordon, Hughes, Duhon are all good players, but solid or championship winning calibure. One yes, but when two out these 4 are on teh court it's not good. Rose will be able to manage the team a lot better than Hinrich or Duhon. He's faster, better ball handler, more athletic, bigger, stronger etc...etc...

I think either pick was great, but I wanted ROse.

Zeebs, you a portland fan? I'm so jealous...there are a lot of young teams out there that seem so fun to watch. Blazers have Lamarcus, Baylesss now (great pickup), Oden, Travis Outlaw, Brandon Roy....those are some talented young players. Hopefully ODen lives up to his potential.

I also think Memphis will be a fun team to watch in the near future...Dareel Arthur, Mike conley, Rudy Gay, OJ Mayo...not a bad group of kids. They need some veterans though to go anywhere. I just like Conley and Mayo next to each other....the next Billups/Hamilton back court....but these guys are even more athletic and skilled....we'll see if they turn out well though.

I live in Portland dude. I've been a fan of the Blazers since the Drexler days. My support trailed off during the Jailblazer/Patterson & Nash years, but ever since Pritchard took over I've gotten back into them a lot. They've got a great young group full of nice guys and the city is all over it.

You wouldn't be saying that if you actually watched the Bulls.

I split my time between the Bulls and the Timberwolves.
