Less than half these songs are any good. I expected so much from this album, I guess that's why I don't like it.

Barely seems like an album to me, just another mixtape, that said, I don't really hate it, but I don't like it either.

What? It definitely sounds like a full-length. The production is all top-notch and he kept his sizzurp'd rambling to a minimum. Not like on half his mixtapes where he babbles over 4 tracks about never being to New Orleans or something retarded.

That production is great, but I dunno, when I listen to an album I expect their to be some sort of flow between the songs. Not a concept album, per-se, just something that doesn't sound like a guy took a bunch of songs he likes by an artist and burned them to a disc, that's what this sounded like a little bit to me. Doesn't really seem like it lives up to the hype.

Well, I guess it might not live up to the hype but that was impossible anyway. We still have Detox and Greatest Story Never Told.

That fucking piece of shit Lollipop song absolutely sucks. It is quite possibly the worst song I have ever heard. It makes me want to kill myself whenever it comes on. I'd rather listen to a bunch of 5 year olds sing the song that never ends...forever.

I just remembered! Where the hell is I Feel Like Dyin'? That song is probably one of his best tracks ever! For all the gay-ass slow songs Wayne has on the Carter 3, I would've figured he have one of the only good slow songs he's ever done on it. The lyrics are dead-on and the beat is eerie as hell. Gah, he probably would've fucked it up just like he did with La-La.

It's funny, I've heard at least 10 new songs that feature Lil Wayne that are miles beyond the Carter 3. When it comes to lyrics, he's one of the best. However, the beats of his songs don't flow or sound awesome. That's why Da Drought 3 was his best work ever...they weren't his instrumentals.
Also, is there some beef between Dj Khaled (sp?) and Lil Wayne? Weezy isn't on any of his songs off his new album. Khaled even took Wayne off of Out Here Gridin'. I mean, not that I care, but considering how Wayne is one of if not the most popular rapper right now, you'd think he'd include him.

who cares, all of the dj khaled albums suck anyway. he is not the best. and most certainly not "global".

Khaled is pretty damn popular though. When Weezy is featured on the most unknown motherfucker's song, you'd think he'd be on this album.
Anyone else have a bonar for Gucci Mane like I do? His lyrics are retarded, but he has some of the best fucking beats I have heard. I love club rap and he's one of the best without being gay like TI or Flo-Rida. Freaky Gurl, Tatted Up, Like the Kid Be, Pillz, Go Head....love all that shit.

I dig Gucci Mane. I agree he isn't exactly the best lyricist but he has a skankyness about him that I dig.
Anyway what for sure needs to be discussed in hip hop right now is Q-Tip's new album The Renaissance. Gettin' Up has been getting decent airplay on MTV2 and it really excites me. I can't get tired of that song
also fuck dj khaled

"Gettin' Up" is great but the album overall is alright. Wale's mixtapes have been the best shit I've heard in a while.

The Dedication 3. Wow, what a let-down. This album is so completely devoid of any substance, I can't even see why Wayne bothered to record it. The guest rappers are terrible, he continues to use that vocalizer shit, no stand out tracks and I'm pretty sure the "Get Silly" remix is his worst song to date. Wayne needs to drop a new Da Drought mixtape and leave the vocal distortion crap away from the studio. You're not T-Pain...you can actually rap. However, I'm beginning to question those abilities lately.

Da drought 6 is actually really good for a mixtape. Not even close to dd3 but decent nonetheless. either way I'm not hating on Wayne. He still churns out more than any other rapper right now. Although lately it's more crap than rap.
