Won't be catching any Lucky Charms in the majors, that's for sure.

What a waste.
The President
Is that 10 mil guaranteed?
The Clown
I believe it's incentive based. He probably has to make the majors, or at least AAA.
kyle
He's 23 years old, you guys. Wait a few years before you declare him a waste.

He's not even in low-A ball yet and he's failing miserably. He's playing with kids who are straight out of high school and he can't strike them out...this was a college pitcher.

Also:

Homer Bailey - 22 years old.
Johnny Cueto - 22 years old.
Clay Buchholz - 22 years old.
Joba Chamberlain - 22 years old.

And those are just some recent examples of pitchers younger than Samrdjiza who have been successful in the majors. Almost everyone his age is at least in high-A or AA ball by now.

Homer bailey has actually been pretty shitty in the majors.

I had high hopes for him, but he has down decent in the lower leagues....but he's still young.

Don't forget Edinson VOlquez at 24, he's leading the NL in ERA.

But yea he should have stayed with football. Baseball is tough to get good in the pitching position.
The President
Fuck I give up. He wanted to do this, so let him do it.

Yeah but hes a college graduate, not a high school or latin american baseball academy prospect so he is much more of a finished product.

He could still turn out, but his ceiling has certainly lowered.
