It was enjoyable but not the best comic book movie I've ever seen. That would go to Spider Man, Spider Man 2, V for Vendetta and Batman Begins.

Yeah, it's hard to imagine Iron Man being any better than those (except V for Vendetta..I thought that movie was gay). I'm optimistic though.

I'm going to see it next week sometime after all the high-school kids and blacks (I'm not racist, but they talk waaaay too god damn much) have seen it.
Zombie N-Word
Best comic book film ever made, by far. Downey's performance is spot-on and the after the credit scene was enough to get my nerd juices flowing.
Da Bears
I have Spiderman 1, SPiderman 2, Punisher, and Batman Begins as my favorite comic book movies. Sin City is great, but I don't consider it a comic book movie for some reason....

Yea I have high hopes for this movie. I have to wait to watch it though a week or so.

I did too. I guess because it strayed from the normal "super-hero/villain" type theme. I consider it along the same lines as Kill Bill---an over-the-top action, querky action movie. Plus, I never read the Sin City graphic novels sooo...Regardles, Sin City ranks as one of my favorite movies of all time. It was so damn stylish and entertaining to watch. I got the same feeling watching Sin City as I did watching movies like the Matrix or Running Scared (the newest one [even though it sucked, it was style pretty hardcore and stylish[).

Oh and I still haven't seen this Iron Man. Sunday or Monday for sure!
The Batman
It indeed kicked ass. Even the girl I was with who said she didn't like superhero movies liked it.

Going to see it tomorrow! =D

I see... Well it was a spot on interpretation of the comics. It is an awesome movie and comic.

I saw this, and I was looking forward to seeing it and such. But as it ended, all I could say was "That's it?". It just felt like, totally underwhelming at the end. Like we just got into the movie and it was over, even though it was nearly two hours long.

I dunno, I enjoyed it, but it is overrated as all fuck imo. I'm excited for the series and such, but I feel like this movie is a mere stepping stone to a trilogy. And it pretty much left me with a bad taste in my mouth due to that.

What, was half the movie like him "discovering" his powers or something?

All these superhero movies need more action and less boring dumb shit.

That was the majority of the movie yes. Him before, him discovering, and like two full Iron Man character fights, if that. And the huge tease ending...

I really agree with you on that. I think one of the biggest things is that they all need to stop trying to have a romantic sub-plot.

Here's hoping The Spirit cuts away all that bullshit since Frank Miller writes all women as bitches and whores anyway.
BEAUTIFUL BEAN FOOTAGE
There was hardly any romantic sub plot in Iron Man.

And besides, the ones that have romance in them have it because it is integral to the comics too. Mary Jane and Peter Parker, Lois Lane and Superman, Alfred and Batman etc.
Himura Kenshin
Oh my god that was amazing.

I don't know. I never saw that movie.

And I was very underwhelmed by this movie. I came in expecting a superhero movie on level with Sin City, Batman Begins and Spider-Man 2...what I got was an entertaining movie. Nothing more, nothing less. I know that's a good thing, but I had very high hopes for this one. Hell, the climax of the movie (the only action IMO) only last a few minutes. Blah...RD Jr. was the man. If it had been any other actor, I would've been bored out of my mind probably.

That's what impressed me the most about the movie. As a comic-geek it was nice to see the actors really get into their performances, something (IMO) wasn't there in the X-men films or Superman Returns.

And you're right about it sucking with any other actor. I remember when Tom Cruise was in the running for the role, they even started drawing Tony Stark like him in the comics =|
Da Bears
Spoilers maybe I don't know? Just be careful if you haven't seen it yet.

Yea I do agree with you. I know it's a tight movie and a comic book, but to me it's more of a cop movie. I don't know why, it's just not a comic book movie to me. It has more of a badass vibe like Boondock Saints. I could be way off, but that's how I felt watching it.

My favorite part of superhero movies is the discovery of powers, Spiderman 1 is by far my favorite. Waking up ripped, walking in the alleys, jumping through buildings...fucking awesome.

But at the same time I see your point, Spiderman we expected more movies to come. And although most comic book movies end with a feeling of a possible sequel, they don't always make one. (punisher, Daredevil, I'm sure there are more but I can't think of any) What I'm getting at it, I too wish there was more time to see more action.

It reminded me of Transformers the last fight between Optimus and Megatron, fucking bullshit. That scene and this scene had the chance to be my favorite battle ever in a comic book movie (hopefully Hulk doesn't make this mistake too) BUT!

Is anyone else sick of watching the final character battles where the good guy is like half power, or beaten....it's bullshit, let's see an even fight both fit from the start. His power source thing was his old crappy one so he couldn't do half the cool shit against the other guy. In Transformers if I recall correctly, Optimus spent most of his time getting his ass whooped....it's so gay. It's like a huge letdown to see a final battle in a comic movie when the superhero is half strength....I guess it's noble, but I think the movie has already established that these characters are noble in the things they are doing.

I'm not saying, Oh I want action, CGI CGI CGI, but it's still a huge letdown. That's why I thought the spiderman movies were so great, in SPiderman 2 even he gets whooped but he bounces back and in the final battle he's ready to go. Same with in the first one on the bridge, he's full strength.
zabean?
i was also disappointed when he fought the big guy when he was so weak
that coulda had some more action at that part i mean thats the climax

Agreed with this. People act like the studios just add a romantic subplot, but in reality it's integral in the comics.

I thought it was a great movie. RDJ pulled off Iron Man perfectly...I heard a rumor somewhere that he's a huge fan of the Iron Man comics and has an extensive collection of them, so maybe that explains it.

After the credits scene made me nerdgasm. Best casting choice ever.

I think the studios consider it more intergral than it really is. You could have a good Spider-man movie without him fawning over Mary-Jane, Gwen Stacy or the Black Cat. When they make the Flash movie (depending on the Flash) it can be good without Linda Park or Joan, if it's Wally or Jay, not having a love interest doesn't work so much for Barry Allen.

I don't think they could make a good Superman movie without Lois though.

Well let's be fair, it's not as if they had any choice:
