The scary part was, alot of fags on 404daily sucked his balls. Not saying any of you, but many people including Justin loved him for some reason. He was basically the reason I left 404daily...you know, before it was no more. If he ever came back here, I'd leave again.

Seriously though...

...That isn't really the case. Well, it sort of is.

But basically, I never expected 404 Error and GameDaily to, you know, be BFF's or anything. But I thought with me having one foot in 404 Error and one foot in GameDaily, I could hold things between the two together. And that's how it went, more or less. For a while.

What I DIDN'T think about when selling the boards is that I might not be at GD forever. Like... it's something I literally just never considered. I asked myself a lot of questions, but "What would happen if you went to work for a different company?" wasn't one of them.

So when I took a new job and wasn't with GameDaily anymore, there was no-one else who who really "got" both parties. Worldmaker kinda did but he didn't know any of the GD peeps on a personal level... as friends... like I did. So there was no one left to really go to bat for the community anymore. So GD just kinda dropped the boards.

Rest assured that even though I didn't even WORK there anymore, when I saw that the forums had literally just disappeared without warning, without any backups... just randomly flipped off one day - there were some heated fucking phonecalls between me and those guys. I was pissed... that was some pretty incredible disrespect for this community, regardless of what you guy had been saying about them.

Obviously the GameDaily stuff didn't end up working out, but think about it from my point of view. I spent the bulk of my life on two things: 1) Working for GameDaily (since it was my job), and 2) Adminning 404.

So, one day GameDaily decides it's going to launch a message boad. This happens at the same time that 404 is getting kind of hard to afford.

I mean, at the time, it seemed like a no-brainer. I could take what I was doing already when I adminned the boards, but actually make it a part of my real work, and not have to pay for the forums anymore.

But then I left the company, and that put me in a pretty weird position. Suddenly someone else had control over MY message board. Felt weird. I contemplated offering to buy it back, since GD wasn't super happy either... but then AOL peeps blew the boards up instead and this place popped up and I basically just moved on.

Then why do you routinely come back every month?

You should have known better than anyone that the people on this board would not and did not care to merge with some third-rate gaming site, especially when it became associated with AOL.

But whatever. I didn't care then and I don't care now. I would've done the same thing except I would've laughed at all the fags on this board.

Including yesterday, I've come back and posted three times in the last year...

Plus, I already said why. (boredom)



By the time GD was acquired by AOL I already didn't work there anymore. I left *before* that happened. And it's not like I knew that was going to happen anyway. And GD is the #3 game site, behind GameSpot and IGN. Bigger than 1up, GamesRadar...
