Jesus Christ. Pirates take the Braves for 12 innings with a final score of 12-11.

Only the Pirates can have 2 players hit 3-run homers on the same day and still almost manage to lose. Jason Bay didn't reach base once, both starting pitchers got rocked (Tom Glavine looked especially bad...he had no control whatsoever.) and I'm pretty sure both teams used every pinch hitter, pinch runner, defensive substitution and relief pitcher they had.

And somehow, out of all of this, the only players I started on my fantasy team for this game were Ian Snell of the bad start and Matt Capps of the blown save and 46.00 ERA.

To take a quote from the blog "Where Have You Gone, Andy Van Slyke?" "That game felt like a microcosm of what it is to be a Pirate fan. Just when they do enough to make you care about them, they rip your heart out, only to somehow leave you with a glimmer of hope at the end."

That game was fucking crazy, so was the Cubs game.

I know Lou wants to try out new things, but Ryan Theriot should never bat leadoff again. He shouldn't even be in the lineup, actually.
