He wrote both. Should I start with Crying Lot?

Crying Lot is mega short. I tried reading it, couldn't get into it at all.

I couldn't either. Still, it is short and a well-known work of his so you could probably safely start with it.
Reading the first review of Crying Lot on Amazon, I've decided to pick this book up from the library tomorrow.

The Crying of Lot 49's really quick. Start with that. Gravity's Rainbow's fantastic, but like Lot 49 times infinity.
