ANyone care to discuss?

I think Kidd going out west was am istake, Harris was a fine PG.

Shaq is a good deal, Amare and Shaq won't be double teamed as much as before.

Lakers getting Gasol was great obviously since they gave up fucking nobody...

And now this Bulls Cavs trade, I dont' know what to think as a Bulls fan, we'lls ee what happens.
kyle
The only Bull player I'll miss is Joe Smith, who was probably the most consistent player on the team.

The Timberwolves make yet another shitty trade by dealing Gerald Green to the Rockets.

Gasol sucks so far, he SHOULD step it up, but he doesn't need to because Kobe is a one man show. the Lakers fucking rule this season.

I think Gasol has been playing pretty well. The lakers don't need more than 20 points from him, and he's been getting that while shooting a high percentage.

Did you watch that LA Phoenix game the other night? Gasol was spectacular. That game in general was spectacular as well.

Here are his numbers at LA...shooting a high pct.

The Mavs and Suns both made terrible trades and opened up the conference for the Lakers and Hornets to take shots at the title.

You think getting shaq was a bad thing?

I do'nt know man. Shawn Marion wasn't necessary for the Phoenix Suns.

They have plenty off offensive tools.

With Marion it left Amare as their big man, and he's not anywhere near 7 foot. IT also left AMare to be double teamed a lot. They were already one of the worst teams in rebounding.

Now with SHaq, both SHaq and AMare will get single coverage.

Also Tim Duncan has killed the SUns two years in a row....we all know the Suns will get to the playoffs with or without shaq. I think this trade was pretty good, now SHaq can guard Duncan in the playoffs.

The key is giving Amare an easier time here.

Yeah, only the first half though and if I recall he wasn't so hot then, maybe I should verify things before I say them.

You think getting shaq was a bad thing?

Yeah. He's old and well past his prime. He's still a decent player but gets burned regularly by younger, faster stars and is fragile.

I agree it can turn out bad and make the team worse, but if he plays hard I think they have a lot better shot at actually coming out with a championship.

I love how everyone is wondering "what's wrong with Shaq" all the sudden. Nothing you idiots, it's what typically happens to a 35 year old, 7'4" 300 pound guy who's been pounded on his entire career.

I know it's early to be saying this but I think the Suns trade for Shaq is going to knock them down into the lower seeds in the western conference, especially if they start to change the way they play simply for O'Neal.
Usurper
I also noticed that they're grabbing way more rebounds, and even allowing less second chance points. They don't get raped so much while playing defense, either. They sacrificed a little bit of offensive power to get a big man who can still hold his own, but they have plenty of amazing shooters.

And Shaq is about the same age as Steve Nash and Grant Hill, so it's not a big deal.

They got 120 points pasted on them by the Hornets tonight and have lost 3 out of 5 since Shaq debuted. In those other two losses, 116 and 130 points were scored on them.

Marion was the best defender on the team and nowadays pulls in as many rebounds as Shaq. I really don't see how ditching him was supposed to make them better on defense, or a better team in general. So far they're getting their asses kicked besides catching Boston on a bad shooting night.

Granted they are 2-3 with shaq....those losses are to Detroit, LA, and New Orleans....three of the hottest teams in the NBA. I would have expected losses with or without Marion.

But then again, the reason they got shaq was to get better, so you would hope they'd win the tough games. BUt I'm just saying it's no surprise they lost...they probably weren't favored to win any of those games.

They're supposed to be making their last ditch run at a championship. Getting blown out by 3 teams you'll probably end up facing isn't a good sign.

Yea I agree.

Boston is going to win the Eastern conference anyway, and the Suns can take them. They only have to worry about Lakers and Spurs, which only the latter can beat them in a 7-game series.
Zebrahead

The Suns got beat down by the 76ers tonight. I really don't think so.

I think Detroit is the team to beat in the East. Not to mention you can't count out the Cavs....they have good enough role players around Lebron to be considered a legit team now. Especially when Lebron is a freak of nature.

And LA isn't the same La anymore....I think LA and San Antonio are sitting as the contenders in the West.
