This is a tough one to me, I'd like to go with Heroes or some other drama but I think everything gets old for me after a while.
EVen SImpsons finalyl got old....South Park is still going strong...I think comedies are easier to keep prolonged.
I'll have to hold my final response until I see what you guys say although I'm leaning towards Rescue Me.

The writing for all regular drama's and such that I like, like Heroes, The Shield, 24, Nip/Tuck and Lost wouldn't be able to hold up lasting forever, and would get shitty. They just aren't the type of shows that are made for extreme longevity.
If I could pick a show to revive for a solid five to six more seasons it would be Deadwood. That show ended FAR FAR to early and its a fucking shame. If I was a billionaire I'd buy the fucking rights and put that fucker back on air.
Now back on topic, my pick would be South Park. Those guys can write episodes from absolutely nothing material and it can still be hilarious. I would definitely pick South Park. Its been on for a long time and its as good if not better than ever. I don't really see it getting old anytime soon either. Pretty easy choice for me.

I'd probably go with Rome. Be interesting to see all that shit.
Not my total favorite, but it seems to me like it'd work the best given a long ass run time. Though I guess if you're into reality shows or gameshows...

South Park or Conan....only shows that could last with the content.

I think for me, it would have to be Firefly. I don't need it to go on forever, just enough to finish the show.

yea Dante I totally agree about drama's eventually getting bad and difficult to write for....
but I was assuming that the writing never got poor.

I'm going to go with Heroes because I really think they could do a lot with the show. Bring in new characters and get rid of old ones, more time travel, ect.
...hmmm...y'know what, no, not Heroes, I'd probably pick Justice League Unlimited as long as they were able to bring it back to it's previous hour-long format from the first two seasons of Justice League. There's no way they could ever run out of stories with such a huge cast of DC characters.

Yeah if a show like Lost went on forever it would get annoying since the whole driving reason for watching that show is to get things explained to you.
I think episodic shows (ones that don't rely on a lot of long term storylines) and animated ones (characters don't really age) are the ones work best.
That being said I wish they would have continued on with Star Trek TNG, they could just switch out characters, like have Riker replace Picard as captain, etc.

I would say My So Called Life but I think that it's perfect and rather fitting that it ended without any sort of resolution. So I guess Batman: The Animated Series.

Star trek the next generation dammit. Shame the cast are too old now.

House would get old. As much as I love it, it would get old.
Scrubs I'd like to see go on for longer than this last season, but it had a good run.
Not sure what I would pick. Probably South Park too. I haven't watched in a long ass time.

House will get old because it hasn't really evolved like most non-reality shows do. Much like Law & Order, it still follows a episodic formula that has been unchanged. Most shows look nothing like their pilot once they end.

I think it would work if they cycled out some of the cast, Riker takes over as Captain (like patrick stewart would stay on the show forever) Data gets a chip that lets him "age", etc.
didn't some of this stuff happen in the movies anyways? I know in the last episode they had the whole time travel shit and a few of these things did happen.

I change my vote to No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain. I just love his appreciation for food and exotic locales. More importantly he is honest. Most travel hosts act like their experts on the show but they probably got their info from a brochure. Bourdain is honest about what he knows and doesn't know. He also doesn't hide what he feels like when he went to Vietnam and was scared shitless all throughout the show because he was with this shady guy. It really feels like you're a tourist going for the ride with him.
