GO SEE THIS NOW.
I thought it was even better then No Country for Old Men. Honestly, I haven't seen a movie that has wowed me like this in years. Everything is great, from the directing, to the acting (if DDL doesn't get an oscar, people will DIE) and especially to the soundtrack.
Ah, I need to see it again...

It's getting a lot of good notices but I can't see it conveniently until Juno gets kicked out of the Rialto since apparently There Will Be Blood is replacing it.

I want to see it so bad. None of the theaters around me are playing it and it's pissing me off. Get rid of Alvin and the Chipmunks for fucks sake!

I should see this before my theater pulls it.

Looks like I'll be seeing it Friday or some other day this weekend, looking forward to it.

Really slow pace, Lewis and Dano chew the shit out of every scene. Nice cinematography. And of course the best line of the year.
Overall, felt too much like Oscar bait.

It was a bit cliche, and too drawn out.

Mostly stupid, DDL played his character well, but the story seemed drawn out and pretty pointless. I'll remember the dumb quotes way more than I'll remember the movie itself.

You guys are crazy
Though I will say it was a bit too drawn out, but oh well, that's my only gripe with it

Yarr. It could have been a little shorter, but the length didn't really bother me. DDL is the man. I can't think of a better performance all year. I really enjoyed the comedic aspects, as well.

What comedic aspects?
It was decent but not quite as good as it has been made out to be though and it kind of started to fall apart towards the end. It was too long, even though it was only a little over two hours.
Lewis and Dano both put in good performances.

Well, I thought Dano's casting out of the demon in that old lady was pretty funny. And most of the theater was laughing in the scene when Plainview was getting baptised (not all of the scene, obviously, but like when Dano is slapping him and at some of Planview's dialogue, like when Dano wants him to say he wants to be bathed in the blood and Lewis just says "...want the blood." His uncomfortableness with the situation was funny at times in the scene.) Or at the dinner scene after Plainview rolls Eli in the mud. It seems like things are normal, but then it cuts to a mud-covered Dano, who's staring blankly. A lot of the theater also laughed at the milkshake line and at Plainview slapping himself on the back of head when he was trying to wake up in the bowling alley. It's not supposed to be a comedy by any means, but I don't think you can deny there are supposed to be funny moments.

I saw this in September at Fantastic Fest. But by the time this came on, I was drunk. I don't really remember if it was good or not

None of those were really comedic in the film, especially when Dano was tearing him down at his church.
I'd say the "I am your brother...from another mother" part and the milkshake speech are intended to be funny, whether they actually turn out funny or not to the viewer.

God, I was dying at the brother part.
I still think No Country was a better movie, overall, but DDL's acting was superb and should win the best actor award at the Oscars.

I thought it was good but it certainly isn't deserving of the massive amount of praise it's receiving. I loved the score and the cinematography but I felt that the characters were rather shallow and I don't feel that we were given anything that made Daniel more than two dimensional.

SEP: How can you even make that claim? I know I was laughing when Dano hit him with that little slap.
Scene ended up dramatic, though.

Because you just knew he was going to kill Dano for that. Thats why Dano got the hell out of town and went on missionary work after that scene.

Easily the best movie of last year, with the best performance. Leagues better than No Country for Old Men.
