I sit down at my computer after being away for several hours and turn on some music. Sound still comes out, but it's coupled with horrible static. After a few various tests, it gets worse with higher pitch and louder volumes. It's the same in both speakers (not the woofer though), so I figure it's something more than just a fried circuit. I've tried reconnecting all the inputs and nothing helped.

Any tips? Or do I need new speakers?

I've had my speakers/computer off since my last post, and they seem to have healed themselves.

I'll keep this open in case it happens again.
