QUOTE
Citing a knowledgeable source in the WVU athletic department, Hickman reports that all of the paperwork files on all WVU players and recruits are missing.

Hickman reports that all records of current players—their strength and conditioning files, their public service, their classroom attendance, their discipline—are gone.

The files went missing sometime between Dec. 16th—the day Rich Rodriguez announced he was leaving to go to Michigan—and Jan. 3rd, when the team returned from its Fiesta Bowl triumph.

Hickman reports that Rodriguez and his longtime personal assistant Dusty Rutledge were seen shredding files on Dec. 18. He also reports that although the athletic department has not launched an investigation (WHAT?), the University's legal counsel has become involved, as it is currently pursuing a $4 million suit against Rodriguez.

This could be a crippling blow to a program in transition that has just lost most of its coaching staff, its star recruit (Terrelle Pryor), and its star fullback, wide receiver, and running back.

Further, if it's Rodriguez's doing, the university should sue him for $8 million.

So much garbage has been flung around between WVU and Rodriguez that I don't know who to believe.
Zebrahead

I'm just hoping Rodriguez really screws up and did do all this shit so Terell Pryor will come to Oregon instead.
kyle
The rumors are that he's actually down to Oregon and Michigan since he doesn't believe Tressel will apply the spread.
Zebrahead

Tressel won't do the spread. Pryor's not going there. He's between us and Michigan and will probably go to Michigan assuming Rodriguez is clean. If he's not...well, good news for me. biggrin.gif
kyle
Yep, if Oregon grabs Pryor they'll have to be top five, if not number one in the preseason polls.

As for Michigan, well, they better pray Pryor doesn't slip through their fingers. Completely revamping an offense and taking time to bring in your players can result in some really tough seasons, just ask Ron Zook.
Da Bears
I don't understand what Pryor could be thinking...Tressel won't do the spread?

Did he not just see Ohio State have a heisman black QB. Did he not see how Troy Smith became a running QB and polished his skills and became a dominate passing QB?

Does he realize this spread running shit that Pat White and other teams do will get him fucking crushed in the NFL? You think he'd realize that he needs to improve on certain facets of his game. Troy Smith was never a great QB physically, but with the coaching of Tressel he became a heisman winner....

Please? Haha are you fucking kidding me...Oregon top 5 because of a high school athlete? Number one? BWAHAHAHAH....

Let's not jump the gun here fellas. The jump from HIgh school to college is harder than college to NFL. Granted Pryor has looked amazing, but adding him to the team doesn't make a team top 5, especially a team that's lost their star QB and now would have to be using a freshmen QB.

Didn't Oregon also lose their 1700+ yard rusher?

Fucking Notre Dame's QB Clausen was hyped 1000X more than Pryor and look at his freshmen campaign. Notre Dame, after having one of it's best seasons wasn't ranked in the top anything when they picked up Jimmy. I would quit wathcing college ball if Oregon was in the top 5 next year.

I do hope he goes to Oregon over Michigan just in case that mother turns into a nother Vince Young, I'd hate to face him as a buckeye fan. But listen to how stupid your comment is....Oregon should be top 5, if not 1...because of a high school athlete....should Michigan be ranked that high if they got him? THey have better recruits etc.....but it just doesn't sound right over one high school player.

Yeah, but they'll be returning two other runningbacks who averaged over five yards a carry, I believe.

Notre Dame's struggles had nothing to do with Clausen, it had to do with Notre Dame being carried by Brady Quinn and facing a weak schedule year after year. Besides, a quarterback who runs the spread is completely different from a quarterback like Clausen.

Yes, I'd say Michigan would earn a top ten spot if they landed Pryor. I just think the kid's that good; he reminds me of Pat White WITH actual passing skills included, which makes him the most dangerous player in the country.

Dude, you are way off on the ranking system...thinking you can rank a team based off a freshmen...that's terrible.

You're saying he reminds you off pat white, shit I hope he plays like Pat WHite if he's not a buckeye, Pat White was shit man. He had two years where WVU should have won the NC, and they couldn't handle shit teams like Pitt and Rutgers, fucking awful.

And you're saying Notre Dame had a weak schedule? you mean a weak schedule that included Michigan going undefeated untill playing the #1 buckeyes, and USC? That weak schedule? Apparently brady fuck face's schedule wasn't as weak as you claimed. Granted those were his only two losses, but he beat every other team...took care of UCLA. So don't be so quick to bash Notre Dame, they schedule tough games every year....which includes USC, MIchigan, and Purdue.

Oregon has Jeremiah Johnson back at RB, and he could start for pretty much any other school in the country. Andre Crenshaw also returns and he got a ton of playing time last year. Plus they picked up three of the top RB prospects this year in Chris Harper, LaGarrette Blount and LaMichael James. Despite losing Dixon and Stewart, the team is still loaded and if they get Pryor they'll have a top 5 recruiting class to go along with it.

Tressel has already stated he won't change his offense to the spread for Pryor, so unless Pryor's got some sort of trick to change that, he won't be going there. His #1 is Michigan right now, and lurking in the back are Oregon and then probably Florida or Penn State.

I don't think Oregon will be ranked in the Top 5 due to Pryor coming, but they'll probably start off in the Top 15 if he has a strong preseason showing and wins the starting job. This is all hearsay still, however, and I don't think Pryor's coming to Oregon. I'm not all that broken up about it - we recruited a virtual Dixon clone in Darron Thomas - but Pryor seems to be one of those once-every-few-years type of players.

Listen, I agree with everything you said.

But you can't start saying that your RB can replace a 1700 yard RB....I could say the same thing about OSU's back up Brandon Saine, he's a bad ass, but he's no Chris Wells.

ANd a high school player doesn't make you a top 5 team...

I do think he's a player that could be something special...but you don't jump the gun on pre-season rankings on a college recruit..

People here really want to kill Rich Rodriguez.

Of course you can't replace a 1700 yard back. But if Johnson and either Crenshaw or one of the recruits gets 1700 or more yards together, there's not much falloff.

Yeah, the schedule was brutal that year. Imagine being forced to play Navy, North Carolina, Army, Air Force, Stanford, and Purdue in one season! How did they survive?!?

Dude, don't talk shit because Notre Dame's schedule is weak for ones year. And that's 4 teams, everyone faces 4 pretty weak opponents in a year.

Regarldess of Notre Dmae's weak schedule, that still doesn't excuse you're stupid Oregon should be top 5 if they get Pyror comment.

We'll see what the rankings are if Oregon grabs Pryor.

Notre Dame played the 32nd hardest schedule this year. It's not like they played the absolute best teams, but it's not like they were Hawaii, or somebody. For reference:

1. LSU - 11th
2. Georgia - 6th
3. USC - 64th
4. Missouri - 12th
5. Ohio State - 34th
19. Hawaii - 110th
20. Illinois - 10th

God post...people give Notre Dame shit but they face Michigan and USC every year. Not many people can say they face the cream of the crop from the PAC 10 and the Big 10 every year. They usually play Michigan State who is a solid contender. THey also play Boston college and Purdue. Just because they don't belong to a conference doesn't mean they don't play tough teams.

And Kyle let me clarify my Pryor comments. If he goes to Oregon I think Oregon by the end of the year can be a top 10/5 team. I think he has a good shot at being great. He also will probably be a heisman candidate in the years to come.

But to alter preseason rankings on a kid who has never stepped on a college football field, that's not fair, especially to other teams. I still think he's a great talent, but you never know if a kid will actually be good at the next level.
