Is it just me or did the Daily Show really suffer and the Colbert Report improved even more? Stewart really relies a lot on his writers and without them boy does he suck. Colbert can sort of improv and rely on his own wit much like Conan. Conan's writers and monologue sucks anyway so he hasn't lost much. He's actually better just playing himself.

Stewart getting even worse surprises me. He's been doing the same thing for years.
*Shows a picture of a Republican saying something funny*
Stewart: WHAT?! WHAT'RE YOU TALKING ABOUT MAN?!?!
*everyone laughs*

The best things about the daily show are the correspondents.
But I <3 Colbert

Colbert has a lot more experience with improv, he is just better at it.

Though I feel Stewart shines most when he's doing an interview with someone he's actually interested in talking to. You know, the ones where the interview is half the show and you get to see just how smart Jon is as he's talking.

I think Stewart is a better in the interviews.....but Colbert is killing Stewart overall. Whoever above said he has good improv skills much like conan is spot on.
I never was a fan of Stewart...mainly because his fans thought watching his show made them politically active/intelligent. I was always amazed at how someone who's only gig was a side character on Big Daddy, somehow became the most popular and supposedly witty comic. Clearly he his writers have created his fame. I never thought Jon Stewart was that fun, even his delivery is kind of lame...just seems like he says something and stares at the camera with a dry/sarcastic look.
Colbert on the other hand I love, just the simple things he does such as addressing the camera's/audience as "fuck I can't think of what he always calls the audience...something along the lines of 'media' or..fuck!" and also his fueds he has with people like Manilow are histarical.

Yeah, it's been incredible to see Colbert keep trucking along (though I miss the Word segment), he's a terrific performer. Also been fun to hear more of Colbert's sense of humor, kind of that absurd stuff from Strangers with Candy.
But Stewart never had a chance - the way TDS is formatted, you need a roomful of good writers to get that show together 4 days a week. They cover a lot of material and at a high quality, and the focus is always on the story and not Stewart. I always thought of him as a writer first.

Somewhat off topic, but for Conan, the change seems sort of interesting. I like how they are adding strange things to the show like the zip line and the maze. It has this feeling like "we dont have to worry about being great, let's just do stuff for the hell of it." Conan trying to waste time is sort of enjoyable.
