The two I would post are movie clips that aren't real as well, but they still look nasty. It's just common sense. If you think it's gonna gross someone out, don't put it as your avatar because everyone's going to see it all the time.

Part of my point was there are no rules. Either tell everyone avatars are content-censored, or don't censor their content.

And I don't pretend to know everyone here well enough to know what will gross them out. The eye thing doesn't gross me out at all. It's pretty interesting actually. People are different with that kind of thing. And why should I care? I'm all for following the rules but it seems silly to just baleet an ava because it's "zomg gross!!!!!!"

It doesn't gross me out either but it's really not necessary to show all the time. Just once is cool and leave it at that, so people aren't forced to see it.

But forcing them to see it makes sense. Because it hardens them against it. Making them a better error.

Well, to be fair people are never forced to see it. This version of IPB has an ignore feature + removal of avatar controls. It's best to pick a side though - allow anything and let control of what you see fall on the user like in the old days of 404, or censor them so that you're not allowed to have questionable material in avatars. Middle ground sucks for everyone.

I think any of that should be posted if it's marked NWS. As for avatars, I actually don't care either because of blocking the content but I would be worried about work or school, I guess. I didn't want Taped's dumb tit avatar either.

To be fair, that's wrong. You have to see the content in order to ignore the content, unless you disable everything right off the bat and browse a text-only forum.

I think the middle ground is posting whatever the hell you want in the CONTENT of your posts, leaving sigs and avatars work safe, and marking questionable content NWS in the title. I don't think it's that big of a compromise on any side.

Okay, maybe I phrased that wrong, but my point's still valid. I mean come on now, of course you have to see the content to censor it. You need to see it to decide if you want to see it. I mean look at the old days on 404. We had no strict rules on that. Everything but nipples in sigs and avas was okay. But some people browse on family comps or whatever and didn't want half-naked women popping up on the screen all the time. What did we (including the 'management') say to them? Disable sigs and avas. It's the same kind of thing.

All I'm saying is establish it before you start censoring avatars and sigs. Besides, at the beginning of this dumb shit I was talking about this specific ava, which was allowed even on NaziDaily, as Lance said.
