With me, it's not just the fact that the news broadcasts in general suck, but I always seem to change and catch "We've sent a crew to the location of this important breaking news, and we'll have more information as it comes in."

Every. Damn. Time.

I hate it because it's just negative shit. Murders, rapes and robberies are all the top headlines.

I like having the news on low, and on when I fall asleep. It's nice background nice, and I learn by osmosis.

I don't watch local stuff anymore. I do when I'm in Chicago, but I don't really give a shit about what happens in Pittsburgh. 90% of the time it's something on the Steelers anyway, and I care even less about football than I do about this city. I really just watch/read about national and international news and politics.

I turn on SportsCenter or Mike & Mike before I go to sleep in the mornings. If something triggers that part of my brain, I can pull random sports facts out of my head that I didn't even know I knew, and be almost right.

Gotta love biology.

I hate news after 9/11. Nuff said.

It's like the cliffhangers of news. Epic.

Local news in Reno sucks. Like, fucking really sucks. I just browse the 'nets.

That. Or whenever I turn it on, they're taking about celebrities, which I don't give two shits about.

For a long time now, most news has been about selling advertisements, not telling people what's going on in the world. I don't read newspapers, and I don't watch TV. If I feel like seeing what's really major in the world, I'll look at the front page of wikipedia. If I ever actually want to read actual news, as opposed to fark or looking for interesting wiki articles to read, I'll read the Christian Science Minitor online. Contrary to the name, it's one of the best papers out there. emot-eng101.gif It was also one of the first newspapers to create an online version, because distribution costs were starting to outweigh subscription income.
