Yeah, because we all know that losses determine how good a team is or what team deserves to be in the BCS, right Bears? Didn't you learn anything from Hawaii? How many losses you have means nothing to me -- if you don't play anybody the entire season, it doesn't matter. Hawaii played two teams with a winning record the entire season and they were blown out against Georgia, so I expect a lot of the same out of Kansas tonight. Maybe they'll prove me wrong.
When it comes down to Illinois and Michigan in conference play, Michigan's losses were both against teams we handled when they were #4 and #1 respectively in the polls, with one being on the road.
As for Missouri getting knocked out, ask the BCS system you're constantly defending how it happened.. It's not like it hasn't hapened before; Kansas State in '98 were undefeated and ranked #1 before they lost in the Big 12 Championship game. They didn't even end up in the BCS game.
I think we both agree that Missouri should been in, just which teams they should have jumped.
Zebrahead mentioned that Georgia should played USC. Well, they probably would have if it wasn't for Pittsburgh beating West Virginia at the end of the year. If West Virginia would't have lost, it probably would have went:
West Virginia vs. Ohio State in the National Championship.
LSU vs. Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.
Georgia vs. USC in the Rose Bowl.
West Virginia losing knocked them down to the Fiesta Bowl, putting LSU into the championship game. Since the Sugar Bowl is required to pick an SEC team, they were forced to pick Georgia. That left an open spot in the Rose Bowl for Illinois. I'm pretty sure that's how it went down, unless someone knows differently.
