My dad went to school at NMU and he was telling me some stories from his college day. One of the stories was about how every year on Nov 10 a bunch of people would go to the Lake and pay tribute to the Edmund Fitzgerald by drinking a beer for every man who died (29).
Is this still a tradition/ has anyone heard of this?
