Frankly, I don't know how the Raiders do it." Madden later went on to talk about how different football would be if there were no end zone and the field "just went on and on forever."

You know, Madden deservedly gets a lot of heat for saying dumb things during games, but I think Al Michaels says a lot of stuff that's even dumber.

"Running the ball is very important." "That's right, Al."
"Tom Brady completed that pass very well." "He sure did, Al."
"Willie Parker has great speed, and that's why they call him Fast Willie Parker." "Thank you, Al."

Pat was the best, especially in his elder years when his mind was beginning to fail him, and he'd have lapses of dead air mid-sentence trying to figure out what he was talking about.
