Alright I'll try to explain this as well as I can...

Basically I have two roomates, and we have our road runner box in one of the kids room. It connects to a router (I'm not sure on the exact name or info on it I'll look it up later when everyone is awake) and we have our ethernet cables running from that router to our computers. The kid with the router in his room his works.

For some reason mine and my other roomates internet doesn't work. As I look at my task bar a the bottom right it says "Local Area Connection 2 Speed 100.0 Mbps" which I would imagine is good. It says I'm connected etc...I click on that icon at the bottom I get like 17K packets sent and 4.4 million packets received (I have no idea what it means just throwing it out there).

But for some reason when I disable my wireless internet (from my old house) so I can use the cable my internet won't work. I have my firewall allowing every damn process on the list. I'm tired of picking up other people's net with my wireless, it cuts out and it's slow.

Please if anyone can tell me what to do I'd be really happy. I used to just plug an ethernet cord in and it would work every time. It seems ever since I've had this wireless card (2 years) that now it doesn't know what to do with the cable.

Thanks for any information or help.

Do you actually disable the wireless card in the Network Connections area? Have you tried completely disabling your firewall to see if it resolves the issue?
