Okay, so...fucking Radiohead has been my favorite band for years, and they are releasing their next album on OCTOBER 10TH. HOLY FUCKING GODDAMN SHIT.
Through the internet. No record label. Pay AS MUCH, OR AS LITTLE as you want. You can pay 0 dollars if you so choose.

Also, to clarify, the october 10th date and pay as much as you want is for the download version of the album. You can also buy (for 40 pounds/~$80US) a vinyl + cd + bonus cd "discbox" to be shipped in December. The discbox also comes with the october 10th download.

Yes, yes, sorry I forgot all that. I am just so fucking excited. I already put $5 down on the download, so little because I am definitely buying the discbox.
I am now in fullout Radiohead mode. As soon as I heard the announcement I started Hail to the Thief. This is pretty much the most hyped I've ever been for anything in my life.

Not when it "counts" ie $80 for two cds and a vinyl.
I'll probably buy the download for $10. Now if the download also came with say scans of the whole booklet, $15.
This of course is given that the downloads are say V0 . .. a minimum of 192 though.

I'd rather buy the vinyl, no question about it.
But free download is definitely sweet. Glad they are doing something like that, yiu know?

It's not free. It's a user-defined price. The idea is people will choose to pay an amount they can afford.

That's what we've been doing the whole time. Although I might pay them something for this one, just on principle.

Generally though people pirate RIAA music . . . and that's fine as they brought it upon themselves.
And I'm not saying you should pay $15 for the cd, but seriously you can't afford to give up 5-10 dollars?

I'd like to argue that we tend to do that anyway, but this is different. If I listened to them, which I don't, I would pay a few bucks for it, just because it's such a nice concept. YOU choose how much the music is worth.

I for real can't even afford to give up five bucks, but um... I can't lie and say that I would even if I could. I'm not enough of a radiohead fan to actually buy CDs or pay for concert tickets... but I wanna hear this.

Same here. They've been my favorite band since hail to the thief came out. Thought that album was great, heard some of their older songs and it was all up hill from there.
Can't wait for my box set come in.

So I was so tired last night that I decided to go to bed, but I was smart, and woke up at 5am this morning so that I could get not ONE, but TWO listens in before school.
After the first listen, I liked it. I have listened to none of the bootlegs other then Reckoner, Arpeggi, and Nude, so I was in for a major surprise. I used to love the old version of Reckoner, so it'll take me a while to get used to this new one, but I like it. Arpeggi is even better then it used to be. Nude is amazing as well.
After the first listen I was like "Is that all?" I mean, it was good, but I was a bit sad that there were no parts where they just rocked out, like 2 + 2 = 5 or something, but as SOON as I started to listen to it again, I realized I'll love it just as much as anything else they've done.
Favorite so far is Jigsaw

It's alright. But in terms of "Radiohead good" .... isn't that great. I personally feel Hail to the Thief was way better. The songs on this seemed somewhat more minimalistic at times and not as theatrical. Nothing very fresh and interesting about this one. When you listen to other Radiohead songs they seem more "visual" if that makes sense to anyone.
But I imagine I'll keep listening and it will grow on me a bit more.
Favorite tracks:
Nude
Weird Fishes/Apreggi
Videotape - I think the first lines are genius for some reason
