Newports in NYC are pushing past 6.50 in some places, and pushing 7 in most places.

What's insane is that Marlboro's are only 5 bucks. I don't get it, they were the same price last week.

I've only seen black people smoke newports.

My Reds are $5 with tax. I think Newports are, as well.

I haven't ever had a newport (to my knowledge, anyways... I might have bummed one without realizing it). Are they closer to camels or marlboros?

Reds are decent, as are Blend 27s. I don't like their mediums though.

There's something hilarious to me about one cigarette being nasty and another not being nasty. I mean, I even understand the preference but just hearing [this kind of cig] is fucking GROSS, smoke [this] just makes me lol thinking about it.

Pure menthol lights taste like shit to me (because they taste only like menthol). And some weird flavored smokes taste bad too.

All the others, I agree. Only slight differences.

exactly. camels have a smoother, slower burn and better taste. marlboro 27s are acceptable for me, but other than that, marlboros suck. especially reds. taste ashy and chalky, very "burnt" flavor.

Marb Lights and Smooths are the only ones I like anymore. I used to smoke the hell out of some Reds and 27's, can't stand em now.

Kefka, I'm sure you can understand when people talk about the qualities of different strains of weed. I don't see why tobacco would be any different. Except with cigarettes, all the tobacco actually comes from pretty much the same kind of plant, and the differences are in all the crap they add to it.

I don't think marb reds taste weird or bad compared to any other cigarette but I agree that 27s are way better. I guess to me saying a cigarette has a gross taste is redundant because I think all cigarettes have a gross taste or tinge if you will. Except rollies (with decent tobacco) I guess.

Back when I was working at Krogers, no cigarettes were over $4, and even now I don't think there are very many that are.

I guess Virginia has those low tobacco prices or something.

I think they taste like peppermint candies. I can't smoke more than one at a time, and they fuckin tear up my throat, too. Smooth my ass.

It sucks balls though that one buy-one/buy-two get one frees, you still gotta pay the fucking tax on the free pack. Makes me feel like I'm not getting anything for free, really.

And smoking newports pretty much always gets me mocked. I'm in a racists frat house and I don't go a day without hearing "monkey mints" "nigger sticks" and various other offensive terms. I do love them the most though.
