They gave up 5 TD passes to DEREK ANDERSON. There's no excuse, and you may not give them credit, but all the record books say is that the Browns won the game, which is fine by me. Last week I said I hoped the Bengals won because I think the Steelers have a better shot at beating them than the Ravens, but hell, if both teams lose I'll be pretty damn happy because I know they can beat the Browns...they did it in week one.
I never made an excuse. And the reason I refuse to give credit to the browns was because they had guys that were wide open, I mean completely wide open. If you honestly watch the Bengals defense it was atrocious.
I know what it says in the record books, I'm not making excuses for my team, I'm flat out telling you they sucked balls. IT was the worst defensive performance I have ever seen....college high school or professional.
If any of you have this game DVR'd I want you to watch the Bengals 3 linebackers the entire game. They ran no blitzes, they were always in their 4-3 formation, and the linebackers never even tried to confuse ANderson. The one or two times they blitzed him, Anderson actually made young newbie mistakes by throwing the ball away. Honestly you can put any QB in ANderson's position that game and the outcome would have been the same. He had literally all day in the pocket.
I just odnt' get how Cincy went from punishing baltimore with their D to struggling with the Clowns? They must have been fatigue or something, I know our star linebacker was out, and he absolutely punished McNair.
They need to fire their defensive coordinator and let Marvin Lewis take care of the defense. He was after all the Raven's defensive coach in the early part of the decade.
