Basically, I haven't been keeping up on the hardware scene because when I was younger I had no income/dad was cheap, and these days it's because I have a latop. But to be honest, the laptop was a middle-grade laptop, so 2 years later it's really not cutting it. My brother got into the Hellgate: London alpha, so I tried it out and its pretty sweet, but there's no way I'll be able to run it. Lets not forget that 20 FPS is the high point for me when running something simple like Guild Wars. In addition, the USB ports are shot to hell for some reason on it, and the mouse wheel doesn't scroll anymore.

Essentially, I want to know what parts to look for/are good for their price. I currently have $1,400 in my bank account, but I'd rather not spend all of it, though I may be able to get my dad to pay for part of it. I should be able to get a hold of a monitor and maybe some speakers, but I'll need a mouse and keyboard to go along with the whole computer.

Help?

ram: 2GB of whatever's good, ddr2 ram is so cheap :/
burner: nec nd-3550a
keyboard: a nice logitech or ms one
mouse: logitech G5 (make sure you get the one with 2 side buttons)

Okay, how does this look?

Motherboard
CPU
RAM
Graphics Card
Hard Drive
DVD Burner
Keyboard
Mouse
Power Supply combo'd with this case

With shipping and handling it comes out to $1,090.48.

For some reason newegg takes bout 2 hours to partially load for me at work but on some of them the names came up so I could look them up. I'm not sure what kind of prices they linked to though, but here's a better psu:
Corsair VX550 - http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...ctCode=10006757
review - http://www.jonnyguru.com/review_details.php?id=135

and you didn't actually link to a video card, just search results, but i'll go ahead and change my rec of the 8800 GTS to the 8800 GT. they're new, but are cheaper than the 8800 GTS and perform better or on par with a 640 MB 8800 GTS. they cost $200-300.

and i can't actually see the case or mouse or ram or whatever, but im sure it's fine. make sure you get the G5 with the two side buttons.
