What exactly does it take to be able to appreciate, shit, even get through this book? Every time I crack it open it's like drinking some freaking Nyquil.

Does anyone like this book?

I liked it. I didn't think it was fantastic, but it was pretty good.

I usually don't like classics and shit like Dickens or Steinbeck or whatever, but I thought this was a decent book. I also liked the movies. Liked the new one better.

Austen's one you have to work at to appreciate. For me, I tried to evaluate the book strictly on its own terms - I didn't compare it to other books I liked better, because if you're into books where... you know, things happen, Austen's going to fall short. But she's got terrific dialogue, I'll give her that much.

It isn't too deep or anything. It's fun fluff.

From what I've been able to read I can apprecaite the dialog, and all the irony (which is nice and all) but the story is falling pretty short. There isn't really any character or plot point that I find interesting enough to want to continue.

It's basically a fuckin soap opera, hated this book so much.
