We've all thought this for quite some time, especially with what happened to Ænima's post.

And that is why it is closed. Each individual difficulty can have its own topic in the interests of fairness and the avoidance of large topics full of flames that get completely off topic. Topics are closed when they are done. If Ænima hadn't undone the editing of his post then he could make a topic about it specifically. Closed topics mean nothing other than they are closed. The amount does not correspond to anything else since each was closed for a different reason.

I did read your post hun, and I disagree with it. Seriously, you guys say the same shit over and over. It goes "The forums need a change, some of the mod shit is getting out of control" and "The mods do a fine job and you aren't making any sense, Here is why you are wrong and we are right"

I mean, can I be the first to say OLD NEWS. Seriously, can't we all just get along. What it boils down to is that the common posters feel like they aren't being heard and being unfairly treated by some mods. And the mods (which do help the forums at times) feel like they are doing a decent job and that everyone is just flipping out to add drama and whatnot. I understand both sides, but seriously, this is starting to bug me. I wish we could just work this out.

So anyone have any ideas? Perhaps we should have a complete mod redo and vote everything in as we want them to be?

If you actually want us to get along stopping continuously creating topics like this one would be a start. You are judging this board on how many topics are closed. Not why. Or what they were about. Just that they are closed. Which they should be if the topic is dealt with. Clowns topic had the admins posting on the first page with a reply which should have basically been it. Not happy with their answer then discuss THAT. Instead of this endless not very much to the point criticism. Redoing the place will make no difference since everyone is determined to have bad guys here and there just isn't. This the least modding the boards have ever had. And users have the most rights and space to say what they think. Did we ever have a board like this before?

I have not flipped out. I decided on a course of action and did it. Namely if someone thinks they have been modded unfairly then they bring that to the board and make a topic about it. With necessary screenshots if necessary. Specific problems and specific actions rather than this blanket of complaints that achieves nothing bar bad feeling. Topic closed and end of drama.

It was mod power abuse, plain and simple. Thats why the topic was closed. And why hasnt the mod that did it stepped up and said so?

In the interests of fairness yes. Screenshot it or link it with what you originally wrote if necessary on this board but changing it back renders the whole thing moot. Can't debate what is not there and if you overturn a mod decision by removing an editing then complaining about it after that is somewhat pointless I would say. Colour of text tells you which mod/admin is likely to have done it. I refuse to pronounce it as abuse since I don't know what you wrote that they decided to remove. It could have very well earned you more than just an editing really and we are not modding you for that now are we?

I have no idea which topic closure you are talking about and it could well be the mod or admin hasn't yet seen this discussion though I am not sure what you would want them to say.

However, if it happens again you are welcome to present your difficulty in a fresh topic here for the admins.

What are you, brain dead? You pretty much say "Well, I don't know what you said, but I'm going to assume the worst, and we're not taking serious action, so it's okay."

Do you ever actually post without trying to insult someone? It isn't really tactically sound if you are trying to get someone to do what you want or agree with you really. Flies, honey, vinegar etc.

Considering the level of insults I saw in the topic I don't think his post was exactly filled with rainbows and lollipops. But surprisingly that wasn't my point.

So again for the ones who seem to be having comprehension problems. His post is gone. The mod edit to all intents and purposes is gone. So I am not taking action on either on account of not being able to use a crystal ball and find out exactly what happened. If you want to complain about a mod action you don't remove it so it can actually be seen in situ. Then you make a topic HERE with links or screenshots or whatever and both user and mod can have what they have written looked at and modded as necessary. Simple as that. This is my mod action on this particular issue. If an admin wants to take it on with his arcane knowledge and resurrect all the missing text to decide if anything else needs done that is up to him. I don't know who did it and mods don't overturn other mods decisions as a matter of form. ok?

What i said shouldnt matter; it was already 3 pages deep into flames going left and right, and i only insulted when my post about the topic was met with a "fuck you" in the response right off the bat. So of course im going to shoot back. Everyone else does, but why does my post get edited with some wise ass remark by whats supposed to be the one that is the "mature" one. I deleted it because Usurper quoted it, and because obviously, i didnt write it in my post. So i wasnt going to leave it in my post. It wasnt even funny, so i got rid of it.

Its like i keep saying, i wasnt insulting people until i was insulted first. So, when I get modded and nothing happens to anyone else, of course people are going to think theres a goddamn bias going around with the mods. I mean, what would you think? What else is there to think?

Because having all of those topics closed says something about this forum. The title of the forum is "Staff On The Spot." That kind of implies that you guys would be, I dunno, on the spot, don't you think? It implies that the mod base will be receiving criticism on this forum. And yet every topic that critcizes the mods gets closed, and the issues never get resolved. So what is the forum for? You closing my topic only proves the point I made on the VERY FIRST POST in that topic, as well as the countless users who said things like "I'll bet this topic will get closed." The only thing I've ever seen fixed as a result of this forum is a few users being validated. The fact is, mods don't want to listen to the users, they just want to say that we don't know what it's like to be a mod and call us whiners.

"I will address them soon" and "this is going to get taken care of?" What the shit kind of response is that? If you complain to your boss at work and he says "Ok, we'll take care of it," you know he just blew you off. Show me one fucking example of what ANYONE has done to "take care of this." There isn't one, just denial, denial, denial.

Our criticism is RIGHT to the point. The point is that we're unhappy with the mods, we want to see some changes made, and we're not going to stand for this bullshit. It's actually a pretty simple point if you ask me.



How do you know? We've never tried new mods. Never. We've had the same core group of mods since before Gamedaily. Occasionally we add a mod, but once you're a mod, you're a mod until you leave. That's ridiculous to me. This is the only forum I've ever hard of that does that, and for good reason: people get burned out and eventually the user base wants to see new mods.

Wouldn't the least modding the boards have ever had be when the boards first started and we didn't have mods because that was the entire fucking point of the board? Then Justin made mods just in case, and it was cool for a while because nobody really got modded unless they were invading the boards or something. I'd say both of those eras were eras when we had the least modding, users had the most rights, etc. No, we've never had a board like this before...we've had better.

I am glad that topic was closed. It was never going to end because it was just a bunch of whining. Any valid points made (by Error OR Mod/Admin) were overshadowed by stupidity.

Lord, every time I see a topic here it is something new to laugh at. Ya'll constantly whine and moan because mods won't allow you to break rules, yet you incessantly bitch because mods are supposedly breaking the rules? So mods are supposed to be model forum citizens while you childishly harrass certain members like it's fucking high school, post spoilers because some people are dumb enough to care, etc,etc without consequence? Idealistically, mods/admins should follow the rules they're enforcing. But if you don't believe rules should be enforced in general, what motivation to follow rules do mods have?

I see why we got no screenshots and I couldn't figure out what the problem was. Said already Mods don't overturn other Mod's actions regardless of what they think of them. If you want to discuss this further then take it up privately with an ADMIN and knock it off with the witchhunt.

If someone has a problem with a modding THAT HAPPENED TO THEM then they make a new topic here for discussion. So far all this is is pointless flaming and the only evidence I see of anything at the minute is that people can't tell the difference between mods and admins.
