OK, a little backstory:

On November 12th, I ordered a PS2 Network Adapter and had it shipped express delivery from one of those private sellers Amazon lists on their site. I bought a PSP and a few other things this way, and it's never been a problem. The guy had good feedback and all that jazz. I didn't like the name he was using, "bobfixitall" it seemed too...um...stupid, but I went with it anyway. he was selling the thing for $39, every place else had it for no less than $70. (Yeah, I know...but Sony stopped making it.)

So on the 20th, I still hadn't received my package, so I sent him a polite email telling him that I expected it sooner from my experiences with past orders and just wanted to know what was going on. All I get back was "it shipped" So I wait until the 24rd, no package, so I sent him another email, this time telling him I want either a scanned shipping receipt from the post office or my money back by Monday. Over the weekend I get a reply saying "it already shipped its out of my hands nothing i can do"

I'm not about to try to wrestle money from someone who doesn't communicate like a human being, so my reply was basically that I was done dealing with him and that I would go to Amazon to get my money back. Almost immediately, I get a reply. "don have such an attitude john!!!!!!!!!!!!! ill give you your money back!!!!!!!!!"

Too late.

Today, still no package. I sent feedback saying, "Seller cannot communicate in Engligh, will not fulfill my order, refuses responsibility. I don't want anything but the product I ordered. Avoid seller like the plague." (I know sellers typically like to add "He just wanted free stuff. He got what he ordered." and I wanted to avoid that) Then I sent an email to Amazon's fraud protection unit (or whatever they're called) telling them that a seller stole my money, will not provide any confirmation that the item has shipped, and cannot communicate in a way that's helpful towards resolving the issue.

Still no word from Amazon, but I just got this email from a "John Smith" (amazoonordr@yahoo.com, made just to send out this email I'm sure.)

"your a dum mother fucking son of a bitch and i hope you fucking die you faggit piece of shit!!!!!!

burn in hell and let the games begin"

So indeed, let the games begin.

His name is Robert Lewis. His "business" email address is bobfixitall@yahoo.com I'm not sure how much can get done with that little information, but there must be a way we can have a little fun. I already sent the email along to Amazon and informed them that people posing as sellers from their company are making threats.

What a douche. I was just reading about a horrible person in the 240sx community that has screwed over many people across different forums. People make me sick.

Oh God. What a disaster of a myspace. They usually suck to begin with, but that one. Wow. I've had violent diarrhea that was prettier than that.

It could be. Like I said, he had good feedback, just not very much of it.

Oh, now that's just offensive. Sweet lord. And if that MySpace is connected to him in some way, I bet that NA would have been stolen goods. laugh.gif

In other news, sure as shit, he said I was just "looking for a freebie" and had an attitude the whole time in his response to my feedback.

EDIT: Here's the reply I sent him:

"Look, guy. You seem to have been doing this for a little while now. I'm sure you've come across people out there looking for a scam or a handout. That's not me. All I want is what I ordered, or proof that it was shipped so you can be relieved of the responsibility. You're incapable of doing that. So either you're an incompetent seller without the tools necessary to do his job, or you're full of shit. Based on your inability to communicate properly and convey information, I assumed the latter and took action.

The solution to this is pretty simple. Give me what I asked for.

If you want to start playing games, we can play games. I'm good at everything I do, and this will be no exception."

I saw that. I repeat my earlier "What a douche"

C/P this story on the LL boards. They're usually down for boxing someone or some shit.
I've dealt with a few eBay assholes in my time and since I've also traded/bought/sold hundreds (probably more) of my own records and CDs, I know exactly how stupid and how big of bastards people can be. Even overseas/Canada people have given me problems.
Remember kids, "Record Collectors Are Pretentious Assholes."

I've thought about that. If it gets any uglier, I'll include them. I'm sure they can take care of business. As it stands, it's at least entertaining.

True. Here's some excerpts of a conversation through PMs I had with some asshole who took my $30 and a few other people's. Pay attention to the dates of each PM if you don't understand the context of the message. Also keep in mind that the initial PM in this was sent a month after I had actually sent him the money order, so he probably figured he took me already.

i distinctly said in the last PM that i sent them out. i don't understand what your problem is. are you implying that your silence in responding to my PM was to somehow convey to me that you wanted me to find & scan the P.O. receipt? if that is the case, just say so directly. i will then dig it up for you. your passive aggressive comments
(a) mean nothing to me
(cool.gif are not effective communicatory propositions

I can't remember what I replied back to him, but it was essentially that he should shut the fuck up with the bullshit and just admit he ripped me off, since he already had my money and had probably spent it on mocha lattes and Sartre essays at that point.

You're so passive aggressive. How dare you inquire about your purchases in a polite manner! (Did you ever get anything out of that?)

This is my impression on the situation...I'm probably way off base, but whatever. It's fun to think:

Given the way he talks and how he overreacts to things, I'm guessing he's pretty young. That MySpace is probably either his or someone he knows. Looking at some of his eBay auctions, he sells some decent tech stuff at really cheap prices. I could see a situation where he had access to a ton of this stuff for awhile (say, through the back door of a job he worked or plain old theft) made some money at it, ran out of product, and figured he could just post more auction/marketplace items and rake in the extra cash until his feedback takes a hit or the websites start dropping the hammer on him. He's only been an active seller for less than six months.

If that's the case, or I'm at least close, there are much smarter ways of coming out ahead in that situation. He could easily have bought himself some time with a doctored PO receipt that would have gotten me off his back. All it would have taken was a scan of an old receipt from a shipped item of similar weight and a change of a few pieces of information with text that most likely exists on other parts of the receipt and can easily be lifted.

What a douche. I hope someone finds his real address for you.

That's my guess, too. And of course I got nothing out of it in the end.

Well, I think bobfixitall might be in for some gay porn.
