Full Version: It's been 9 days now.
I say we all start sending really concerned emails to the GD staff asking when the forums will be back up, and then when they are, we spam the hell out of the link to this place. I would have started already, except I haven't a clue who to email.

Subject: Any word on how much longer it will take AOL to finish the forums?

It's been about ten days now, and the last news us forumgoers heard from Justin was that the boards were being "ported" (yeah, we know he's not affiliated with you guys anymore, but we didn't know who to ask). Ok, so AOL is tinkering with the boards, reinventing them in their own image or whatever. We're used to it. We just want to know when the community can get back together... right now it's mostly just the two factions of the DC hub and the AIM chat.
I hope to hear back soon.

I figured saying "To whom it may concern:" would be laying it on too thick. They probably wouldn't see it that way, but I wouldn't be able to see past the irony... we clearly weren't concerning much of anyone.

The clash between ebaums and various megaforums (SA, Fark, 4chan, newgrounds, etc) raised the bar. These days it's thousands of users running ping scripts and siterippers that do the job.
