Yeah, so I just found out the other day that Ferrets are actually illegal in the State of California. Problem is that I own two of them and got orders to San Diego. So I'm gonna have to find a home for them now before I move, which isn't until around January 09' ish but still that fucking sucks. So yeah call your Senators everyone! And uhh, I don't know sign a petition or something too!

You could always illegally keep them. I know there's a site that lets you look for vets that will look at ferrets here if you decide to not get rid of them.

Ferrets illegal? That's dumb. Ahnold needs to step up and stop being a wimp. How can this be illegal:

But yeah, I'd just take them with me anyway.

Thinking about it...
But as Military I definitely could not live in Base Housing with them. And if I rented, like I do now, there is the small chance of getting caught which wouldn't be so bad as a civilian. But as military, there is the threat that I could potentially see discipline from that. Not too likely, but I gotta decide if its worth the risk.

My friend has one, it's so cute, but when she takes it out in my car it smells terrible.

We have two in our Apartment. We clean the cage every other day. Give both of em bath's every 3 weeks. And they don't stink.
Before I got them I had this idea they would stink too but they really don't. If you pick them up and put your nose in their fur to smell them...then they might stink. But do that to your cat or dog and tell me how it smells.
They only way ferrets will actually stink when they enter a room is if A.) It lives in shit B.) It is bathed TOO much. This causes their skin to get greasy and overproduce their scent C.) Their scent glands are not removed. 99% of Ferrets sold in pet stores have their scent glands removed.

Military discipline for having ferrets? That seems a bit extreme.

Not for ferrets but in extreme cases you could be reprimanded for "issues" living out in town.
