I'm sitting here in my office eating lasagna from Spagetthi Warehouse that I didn't pay for, listening to moe., and browsing 404, and I realized how kick ass my job really is.
This place is literaly nothing but perks. But it still got me thinking...what could make this better? What cool stuff am I missing out on?
For the sake of the discussion, I'll pick one thing that trumps the rest...the fact that my boss knows every ticket broker in the tri-state area. We had fifth row seats to Bob Dylan a few weeks back, and he's already given me a handful of 2nd row Blackhawks seats from when he has extras and I have the night off. He also told me last week that as long as I take him with so he can see what all the fuss is about, he can get me a private box (or something venue-equivalent) at the moe. show in Milwaukee in February.

I don't technically have it yet, I have to enroll in it and shit, but there's no time limit or whatever on it. But at 360 hours I get a dollar raise to 14.87 an hour, and another 50 cents if I switch to 2nd shift

I don't have a job.
School: I guess that attendance/work during actual class time is not important. They also cook up like 5-6 different vegetarian foodstuffs a day in the cafeteria. That's something.
I'm also 30 minutes away from NYC but I don't drive and bus + train was actually easier to get to the city when I was on Long Island. Getting back here from the city without a car early in the morning is pretty annoying.

My job is awesome:
In the summer I work at a playground with 6-12 years old. I get over paid (On the city payroll) to basically bask in the sun, and play tag 8 hours a day five days a week. Now that the kiddies are back in school I run a variety of afterschool programs for them from crafts, to cooking, to sports. Its fun.
The best thing about school:

TOP 10 REASONS THAT UNIVERSITY IS LIKE PRESCHOOL
10. You cry for your mother.
9. You cross the street without looking for cars.
8. Snack time is a necessity.
7. You bundle up for the outdoors without caring what you look like because everyone else looks as stupid as you do.
6. You stay at home and play games with your friends.
5. You wear your backpack on both shoulders.
5. You wear big mittens.
3. Playing in the snow is a legitimate activity.
2. You take naps.
1. You look forward to grilled cheese sandwiches.

I don't have a job. The best thing about the job I used to have was the free food, and how well I got along with my coworkers.
Best thing about school? Nothing all that interesting. I'm in a really good engineering school, but it's boring and I have a terrible work ethic. The most enjoyable thing I did recently, oddly enough, was wander around a totally unfamiliar city at night in the rain. Alone.

The only thing I really like about my school is something I would like just for living in this city [Raleigh], and that's having a much wider variety in movies I can see in theaters, as well as pretty much anything else [I've always lived in really small towns].

My school has a 3:1 female to male ratio. I have two classes where I am the only guy. I have not found more than a handful of girls I can stand to talk to outside of class despite this.

OK, a positive female to male ratio is also something I'm missing. The only cute girl at my job is the boss's daughter. I could probably tap it, but I'd basically be handing in my resignation.
