So, I know practically nothing about photography, and am really interested in learning. I've used point and click cameras before but you don't learn much of anything with them. After a good deal of research, I narrowed my choices down to the Canon EOS 400D/Rebel XTi or the Nikon D40. The Nikon seemed to offer just about everything the Canon does, but for a lot less, and the professional and user reviews back this up. I found what seems to me to be a fucking awesome deal on eBay, for the price of the camera and a memory card alone (~$600) on most stores I've seen it on, I'm getting everything you see in this auction. Better still, the seller is located in Brooklyn so I'm going to head down to their store and pick it up after work in the morning.
