All Fun And Games Until Someone Loses An Eye by Christopher Brookmyre

Die Hard meets Sean Connery meets my life. Brookmyre is bloody brilliant.
gannon52
I'm reading "Jingo" by Terry Pratchett and the "Illuminatus! Trilogy" by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson. It's the most fucked up shit I've ever read. It's totally stream of thought, so it changes perspectives, time frames, and characters all the time. It feels less like a book and more like an experience; I love it.

Next by Michael Crichton

Oh my god, that book is win. My all-time favorite.

I'm reading Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson at the moment. It's fun.
The President
The Orientalist by Tom Reiss.
Frankie G
I just read On My Own- The Diaries of a Teenage Girl.

Basically this girl goes off to college and writes down everything that happens. She's a born again christian, which is different to my tastes to say the least, but it made for an interesting read considering I'm from the exact opposite side. Sort of makes me want to try giving church a try one sunday.

I am now deciding between The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera and Franny and Zooey by Salinger.
PA.
Thus Spake Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche

This is like my 4th time trying to read this book, hopefully I'll get past part II this time.
The Batman
The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky

I decided to get it and challange myself (I never willingly read anything before World War I). I'm only a few pages in though, and it's a long book, so who knows if I will make it, but I'm gonna try.
Svyatogornyj
Behind The Urals
Dagger Jane
Now reading Common Nonsense, by Andy Rooney (a guy from the show 60 minutes). Awesome. smile.gif

That's one of my favorite books, I love the characters. Though I remember looking at one of the translations and some parts of conversations, especially certain expressions sound awkward in English but maybe it was just a bad version.

Still reading Infinite Jest and Zarathustra, now also reading Ghost Wars: The Secret history of the CIA, Afghanistan, and Bin Laden, from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001, by Steve Coll
Svyatogornyj
I've been reading the Gardner 007 books. In the past week I've read the first three and I'm on number 4 now. I'm excited for the pretty decent library at my school again.
Zombie N-Word
I've got Crime and Punishment and Pride and Prejudice to read for school. Started C&P, hated it, but I'm liking P&P. I've always enjoyed old-english vernacular.
The President
Oath of Featly-Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle
Shawn
I just finished Harry Potter 7
Frankie G
Just finished Candy
Ænima
A Clockwork Orange
The Clown
Through The Looking Glass. Almost done with it, actually.

Svyatogornyj
I haven't updated this in so long either.
I read a couple more Gardner books and I'm starting Doctor Zhivago soon. Never actually read anything by Pasternak.
Joff
Decided to read Jarhead. I'm liking it better than the movie.

Epoch
Read The Long Walk, The Running Man, and The Mist, all by Stephen King within the last month or so. God I wish his brains hadn't been scrambled by the impact of that van hitting him. He hasn't written anything good since.

I also tried my first Dean Koontz novel, Velocity. It was pretty good. I wasn't really sure what to expect going in. Even though I had never read any of his books, I just figured I wouldn't be into him. It was good enough to convince me to pick up another book of his, Seize the Night, when it was on sale. He better not disappoint me. *shakes fist*

Yeah, it's pretty enjoyable. It's certainly short, so you can get through it quickly if you find otherwise.
lolnard copenhagen
No Country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy; liking it a lot so far.
