I've heard amazing things about that brand. If it had more built-in memory I would've jumped right on it, but I have ~20 GB of music

well it does have an expansion slot and accepts SDHC cards, but i had no desire for a large capacity player. and remember, this is a flash based player, 1-4 GB is pretty normal. cowon's new iaudio 7 will be released in a 16GB size pretty soon though, currently they have 4 and 8 GB versions availalble.
and i have like 600 GB of music >_>

Oh I know it's a flash player, I just don't have the money for like a 16 GB SDHC card, and I'm not the kind of person who can just throw a few albums on the player at once and go out. I need to have all of my music with me all the time. And I do listen to all of it, if not I just delete it, I'm not the type to download full albums when I really only listen to 2 songs on the CD.

i'm not that kind of person either, lol. i have no desire to buy a 8 GB sdhc card either. and if you're trying to imply that i don't listen to my music, of course i haven't listened to a lot of it, but that doesn't mean i never will, i just download stuff that interests me and i'll listen to it when i get a chance. and i'm not going to download and keep a cd of a shitty band that only has 1 good song either. i'll delete shit that sucks or is low quality, and i mainly keep a large library for the purpose of sharing music with others either by uploading albums for friends or upping torrents or whatever.
but yeah i dont really need to carry around a lot of music (and 4 GB is more than enough for a couple days) since i won't be able to use it every night at work (probably just use it once or twice a week) cuz a lot of times they don't have me doing boring shit like that and i'll just watch movies or bullshit with my coworker :/ i'll just change up what's on there once a week or whatever

Nope, wasn't implying that

Post some impressions/pics though once you start using the thing. It'd be nice to get a hands-on review from a regular person haha.

Cowon needs to hurry the fuck up and come out with the successor to the X5 already. I want an mp3 player so bad, and Cowon makes ones with the features I want, but I don't want to get the X5, just to have the better one come out a few months later with better features.
