well nobody can tell you what cable to get if you don't know what kind of connections you got on your laptop and tv

Yeah, if you could post picture of all ports on your laptop, or even give us a model number, we could help better.
Same for the TV, but I think the laptop would be more important.

Probably an S-video cable. Most laptops have an s-video out connection to use to hookup to tv sets. Of course, your tv needs to have s-video inputs as well.

My laptop is a Dell Latitude D505.
I just have standard no frills TVs so I guess you can speculate from there. I do know that it does have your standard RYG and the old kind of component where you have a needle in the center.
EDIT: So I'm browsing the web. It looks like my laptop has an S-Video input, which doesn't look too good. All the TVs I have only have composite and RF.
Is there still a way I can get this to work?

You can probably convert s-video to regular composite, but make sure you have an Svideo out or its no good. If you don't, you can probably get a PCMCIA or usb card to do it if you really want it.

First of all, nice avatar Jeff.
Secondly thanks for the help everyone.
Finally, I've found the answer! I'll leave this for others who may want to do the same thing.
http://sewelldirect.com/pc-to-tv.aspThat's a PC to TV converter which has VGA i/o, composite output and s-video output. These devices don't have composite audio output so.....
http://sewelldirect.com/Gefen-RCA-to-MiniS...plitter-6ft.aspHook this up to any standard audio output and the composite to a tv for audio.
http://www.radioshack.com/sm-ultimate-xp-p...pi-2104194.htmlThis is what Radio Shack has. Best Buy doesn't have it yet.

First of all, your laptop has s-video out, so no problems there. If your tv only has composite video-in (the yellow plug), then all you need is an s-video to composite cable, like
this one. You can probably find a cheaper cable (around $5 or $10) if you look around. Or you can buy a small
s-video male to composite female adapter, which plugs into your laptop's s-video out port. You can then use a simple composite cable for the rest. Again, you can probably find the adapter for about $5 to $10 if you look around.

Where did you get the info that my laptop has s-video out? I looked at the back of my laptop and it only has s-video in.

The 7-pin can also be used as an output. In fact, that's the only reason you can actually use an s-video to composite adapter, since one of the extra pins is used to send a composite signal. Look up the wikipedia article if you are unsure. Besides, very few laptops that I know of come with video inputs.
