I'm serious. I had a job similar to this when I was around 17 or so. It was not worth it, at all, ridiculous pressure, scorn, and futility not withstanding.
Yeah, I just made the call. I'm not going to work there. It took me awhile to come to the decision, mostly because I'm desperate for money.
But ...
1. The job is dishonest. It's supposedly a grassroots campaign to help the environment, yet I'm asking for the person to cop out $50 (most likely from an old lady) to "help the environment" even though I could tell them how through moderation.
2. There is a quota system, which punishes you for not making a "sale" of their membership. Wait, am I there to inform or to sell a membership? I can't accept contributions under $50? B.S.
3. I really don't care enough about the organization nor the urgency to "save the environment" to honestly carry on.
4. It's a lobbyist group.
5. I don't even know if you can consider this a grassroots movement.
6. Not a stable job.
I'm not going to let a job break my character and values only to get fired a week later.
