I remember when I was younger I would occasionally see warnings on game systems, speakers, TVs, etc that would warn not to place the item within a certain proximity to other electronics because of a potential negative effect...is there still any truth to that? I just got some new speakers and for my TV, 360, and the speakers to fit on top of the desk they're on they all have to be side by side with only like 3 inches or so separating them.

I figured it had something to do with electro-magnetic fields, but I thought that equipment might now have some sort of shielding inside already built in to nullify this issue.

I remember that if you put a cellphone near iPod earbuds the sound gets weird, but that's all I really know on the issue.

if the speakers are magnetically shielded then you're fine

if they aren't you'll see some color distortion and shit on your tv (provided it's a crt or whatever) and so you'll need to move them away
