The trailer for this debuted in front of Transformers, so I figure a lot of you saw it. If not check it out here as its pretty impressive imo, or it has at least peaked my interest.

Very little is actually known about the film what so ever, which may be why it has peaked my interest so much and Im a pretty big douche for anything JJ Abrams these days. I just really enjoyed the trailer and its entire setup.

The rumors floating around as to what the hell it even is are:

A Cthulhu film, Godzilla film, Voltron adaptation or a Lost film. Personally I'd be game for any of those beyond Voltron.. no fucking thanks there. But the others seem cool. Hell it could possibly be none of those. Paramount is apparently stepping up a big viral campaign for this flick also.

Abrams talked to AICN and said there is only one official site that has been found so far, thats this, http://www.1-18-08.com/.

Guess I just wanted to see what others thoughts were here.

My first thought was Godzilla but after reading a bit more I don't think that's it. The preview is brilliant though, the whole theater was buzzing afterwards when I went to see Transformers.

This movie is definitely the new internet darling until it actually comes out.

I hate how people are throwing Voltron out there just because it has a lion. If it was something like Godzilla or Voltron they'd obviously make it known that's what it was...

People are idiots. "OMG It's Voltron" yeah..no. voltron doesn't fuck up cities as he is a good guy. However there is much speculation that its a doomsday type movie and theres been a lot of talk of Cthulhu.

I've been watching ESPN and looking around the nets about this.
Basically, no one knows anything, it's not a lion, something about slurpees from the show Alias, they don't own the rights to Godzilla, more viral stuff to follow.

At 1:19, a lady says "What is it? Is it coming this way?" and a guy responds with "I saw it, it's a lion, it's huge!" He could be saying "It's alive!" but I think I hear an N there.

I dunno, I'm beginning to believe it's something new. No Godzilla, Voltron or Cthulu. Just a new made up monster. Too early to say, though, obviously.

I know I'd really hate it if I never got to see the monster or whatever the hell was going on in the trailer, but at the same time it could be really cool if it was just a movie about like, random people who have no idea what the fuck is going on while "something" tears the shit out of New York. And ultimately, I really dig stories that can piss me off with something like that; it's got to be good enough for me to care if I'm going to care about that.

Ive come to the conclusion that there is absolutely no way in hell this movie is gonna live up to its hype. That said, its def not a Voltron movie so count that out.
