Care to explain your sig?
18 With a Bullet
It's a joke (at least I hope it is) that Logik posted in some topic that I forget.

Got an example of an 'obviously fine' post and how it was modded? As always, if there's a problem you have with a moderation, report it.

Can I PM it to you Morm? I don't want my personal business (which is what it involves) all over the board.

and that link is where logik said my quote

Lets make sure to enable the Edited By field when we edit members' posts. You've just got to set it once, in case you're not used to it (I'm not), and it'll stay that way by default.

I don't know why you edit posts when you should just delete them and send a pm, I usually just re-edit them back without any notice

Agree'd. I've never been modded, but I hate when I'm in a topic and some mod that thinks they're the wittiest person since Bill Maher edits someone's post (with green text or something, of course) to say something like "No" or "I'm a dumbass with no respect for authority" or "I'd like to be postbanned for 3 days" followed by "done' or something like that.

Well the editing is the first chance. Get caught re-editing and you will get warned.

The colour coding normally lets you know who did it. That is why it is done that way. And as I pointed out already it is the chance before someone has to drop the modhammer on someone's head. It also serves as a warning for folks wanting to get started. Sometimes it is easier to do things that way that come along later and delete a pile of crap and hand out warns everywhere you know.

You do realise you are both requesting more severe modding don't you? You can of course but it does somewhat compromise your chances at legitimately complaining about mod abuse later I would have thought.

Up to you. 3 warns before a probable ban remember.
Poopington
Well, that's three warns within like three months, isn't it?

And yeah, I'm also not a big fan of the edits like "I'm an idiot and need to learn how to respect authority," etc. Just seems like a pretty childish way to exert authority and get the last word to me.

I don't mind edits that just remove a few bad words or something when they're excessive, though. I do think removing 90% of the b-words is a little silly, but I guess that offends you. I remember one time somebody modded my post at GD when I called somebody a douche bag, and I thought that was dumb.

I constantly got posts deleted there, though, and nobody said anything about it to me, so I'd be irritated and sometimes post them again, but I usually just smoldered in impotent rage and ate some Cheetos.

For clarity, edits to the tune of

Are not supposed to be made and should be reported to me or an admin, though I can't remember ever having seen this done.

Can the title be changed to suggest that mods not delete awesome posts? Any post in that shopping spree topic in Showoff that had anything to do with Wench's sun/moon tattoo were deleted. wtf is this shit? She said she was leaving anyway (over something very silly to boot), so who gives a crap if someone says something about her or her tat? And she clearly either sent the pic to someone on 404 or had it on myspace or some other public site. It's not she was trying to hide it. Then the topic is locked to keep people from complaining about it.
