I actually wasn't even going to post but was persuaded to put that image, and I'm happy I did. If you were to look at my 400 posts compared to Logiks.. in a general comparison. Logik contributes much less, and most of his posts are as childish if not worse than mine. Yet somehow this guy is in a position where he is running things here, which is the epitome of irony.

This place has become sad and near laughable since being run by its current people. You and Dei are especially horrible as far as that goes. Morm and Shawn are fine I suppose, but the rest of the staff is basically useless.

No, the fact is 99% of the posters here respect the rules. There's the random moderation here and there for various reasons, but for the most part, this place is pretty well run without intervention by the mod staff. And this is 404, a rather small subsection of the Internet. Here we have rules, although they're not extensive or above anything you'd find on most other forums outside of 4chan, and most of the people here are capable of following them, even those that acted up when they weren't in place. If you have a problem with that, there's plenty of other forums that you can piss on.

Well, this exact forum was put in place to voice such matters. If you don't agree with the decisions made by the admin or mod staff, this is the place to voice them, and has been since the rules were enacted. Taking pot shots and derailing topics is precisely what you've been punished for.

And in regards to my own posts, here's how things work here: When you take the proper measures and report posts that you think are against the rules, then the message is sent to all global mods and admins, not just myself. If anyone else feels my posts are out of line, then they will act accordingly, and tell me as much. I'm in regular contact with enough mods and admins here that if I'm ever out of line and it's pointed out to them, they will let me know. But none of us have the time or ambition to read every single post on this forum, we rely on you guys to point out offenses. If you do so, and I'm at fault, then my posts will be modified accordingly, any mod here has that power. Yes, I get a little wasted now and then and have a little fun that may be at other user's expenses, but without any reports and without any posts indicating as much, how are we to know anyone was offended and the like? This goes for everyone who browses this forum, if you're not happy with a post and you think it breaks the rules set forth by this forum, by all means report said post, regardless of who said it. I encourage it, seriously. This sub-forum here is specifically designed to allow users to vent their frustrations regarding the mod staff, yet no one has taken advantage of it, which tells me that our work is appreciated, even if it's not by you personally.

And you put it so eloquently, "I have posted a few pictures of a mod." The first time you posted a picture, you were punished severely, and yet you did it again, and even said that you shouldn't in your post, so you couldn't possibly be surprised by our actions.

And I'm sorry that you don't like Dei and I, but the only reason for that is that we're the only ones who have taken any action against you. We try to maintain a certain level of dignity around here, we're interested in not only the survival of this community as it stands now, but also the future growth of it, because without new users feeling comfortable enough to post, this community will surely die. There's enough regular posters now that don't feel comfortable posting because all they do is catch shit for it, when they're doing nothing but trying to contribute to the community. It's our job to try to prevent them from feeling like an outcast and to encourage more activity at this forum. If it means taking action against the trolls and flamers that try to claim this place as their own, then so be it. Losing a user like you would do this place more good than bad, and that's the honest truth.

And if this place is so sad, you are free to stop posting here and stop browsing the forums. It's a free world, and a free internet, nobody is forcing you to do anything.

The whole point of this was to let Dante vent his frustrations and clear the air. He has a problem with me, and I know that he's not the only one who feels that way. So this is basically a forum to get those frustrations out in the open so we can all be on the same page and move on. I'd like to take him off post preview and let him be, that's the ultimate goal of this thread. If we can get this situation resolved, then we can all go about posting as usual.

I don't want anybody here to feel like I'm above the law or anything like that, hence the bolded part of my last post. Up until this point, I was never under the impression that anyone was offended by my posts.

Yes, I moderate when it seems necessary, and until now no one has really had anything adverse to say in that regard. I understand how a lot of people feel, that rules are nothing but constrictive and counterproductive to the activity of this forum. but in all honesty, the rules set forth don't constraint too much, and are mostly to protect everybody. The basic ethos here is that you can say what you want as long as it doesn't offend any particular user. Yeah, I've fallen into the other side of it now and again, but most of my posts that cross the line have been in jest, and nothing ever came of them. If I knew other users were offended by my actions, I'd pull back. My main intention is, seriously, the continuance and growth of this forum. If I've prevented that in any way, I apologize.

Being able to ignore someone doesn't really excuse someone from acting like a dick. The post is still there and other people can still see and respond to it.

The whole point is principle. Regardless of the function, there's still a line between flicking someone shit and just being a rampaging, flaming asshole. It's at that point that one or both of the sides need to take a break and cool off.

Not saying it'll work on Dante, or that this topic was the right idea in general (I personally don't think so) because calling people out and insulting them viciously on the internet seems to be his specialty, but I'm just sayin'.

Dante has not been punished for being abrasive or insulting in his posts. Nowhere in the rules does it say that you are not allowed to be a dick/penis/cock *checks rules* or asshole. Dante has crossed the line on several occasions, and this has been dealt with accordingly.

The big backlash that we have here has been caused by dissenting sentiment from two sides. One believes that Dante is an asshole and deserves to be modded, warned or banned. The other side takes the opposing viewpoint that being an asshole should not be a moddable offense. It isn't. Breaking the rules is. You should all keep this in perspective before going off on tirades like this.

We've got rules in place for a reason. Likewise, we have measures in place to ensure that our members are treated fairly. A board exists specifically for members to voice dissatisfaction over the way members of our staff are handling their duties. It is dead. This is grounds alone for a shut the fuck up, but that would be against the guidelines I set forth for myself, our administrative staff, and our moderators. If any of our staff at any point tells you to 'shut the fuck up' or anything along those lines, report it, or shut the fuck up, or get ready to be modded further, and then shut the fuck up. Lather, rinse, repeat, banned. Period. If you are banned, and you disagree with it, a topic should have been created for you in the board called "The Corner". You still have the ability to post in this topic, and may use to appeal your banning. Use it.

Fairness is my main concern. Use the measures that I've put in place, we will respond if the situation demands it.

Being a mod doesn't stop us from being members of the community. Sometimes I get the impression people would prefer it though which is sort of sad. It will stop the mods from posting.
