Okay, so I just got a new macbook, and I'm trying to go on the internet but I can't. I have a PC right now that has a cable connection, and I've tried putting my ethernet cable into the slot on my modem but it won't connect. The most it has done was ask me for my DHCP id (which I don't know where to find- I tried using my DHCP server number and it wouldn't connect). Help?

Do you use a router or are you directly connected to the internets?

Ahh I just figured out what was wrong. I guess I had to restart my modem for it to work. Now it works!!
