With wireless my house has four, maybe five, different computers all recieving signal from the same router. Now, I want to forward the port, and don't have any problem being able to do that, but the thing is...it seems like something keeps the settings from staying. If I restart, shutdown, or even go into sleep mode, then it seems like my static IP always switches back, and everything goes to hell for a while.
Now, do I need to forward the port from a specific computer for things to work better? Or all of the computers? Because my ThinkPad doesn't seem to be the ideal platform to do it on...all of the newfangled security shit pre-installed on this machine almost prevents me from online gaming its so tight, and I have no idea how to disable it...it's like it doesn't want me to (imagine...a secure computer...) So maybe doing it on my dads desktop, with no security whatsoever would help more?
I have no idea about all the technical workings of port forwarding...I basically just do what portforward.com tells me to. It never says anything about things going to hell after a restart though.
