As an alcohol enthusiast, I've begun to experiment with different liquors and mixers lately. My budget is a bit limited, but I've found and created some recipes that are really enjoyable, outside your typical Rum & Coke and Gin & Tonic-esque recipes. Feel free to share your own favorites and creations.

Liquor terms:

*Quart refers to the name of the liquor bottle size, not an actual quart.

Sex in the City
- 6 parts Vodka (3 oz.)
- 1/2 packet Crystal Light On The Go (Fruit Punch flavor works best)
- 6 parts Cranberry Juice (3 oz.)

Put the vodka in a cup, then the powder, then top with the cranberry juice and stir.

This is an original of mine. It's a great drink to make for girls that aren't big on the taste of liquor, and also a great way to use cheap vodka ($13 handle of 80-proof Korski, anyone?). Keep in mind, this can be a dangerous drink since it goes down so easily.


Pinomeister
- 6 parts Jagermeister (3 oz.)
- 12 parts Pineapple Soda (6 oz.)

Another original, hence the lame name. For Midwesterners, Faygo makes a kickass pineapple-flavored pop, and it tastes great with Jager.

I'm going to give that Sex in the City recipe a shot, maybe tonight. I've never been big on mixing drinks, but I'd like to start.

The Chief
In a tall glass:
Crushed ice,
1 shot Jaeger,
1 shot vodka,
fill with lemonade.
Twist two slices of lime into the glass and throw them in.

They go down really easily and leave you really fucked up come morning.

Caribou Lou (anyone that listens to Tech N9ne might be familiar with this one):

I've only tasted the drink, never mixed it myself, but here's how my friend makes it. Put all of these into an empty gallon-sized jug:

1/2 of a fifth of 151
1 fifth of Malibu Coconut Rum
Fill the rest with pineapple juice

If you need to make smaller quantities just try 1 part of each I guess. It's pretty tasty.

This isn't really a sipping drink but it's one of my favorites to "do" so to speak.

Sake Bomb

1 Glass of beer
1 Shot glass with warm sake

Drop shot of sake (shot glass and all) into the glass of beer and chug.

If you want to get really hammered, here's my favorite creation:

Turkey Trot
Serve in rock glass(5-6 oz)
2 shots Wild Turkey
Near-Fill with 7-up/Sprite(preferred)
Splash of cranberry juice(enough to make it light red)

Here's a good one that'll get you fucked up.

Summer Beer
1 can of frozen lemonade concentrate
1 can of vodka (just fill your empty lemonade can)
2 12oz cans of light beer

Mix together in a big pitcher and share. Good stuff.

We call that "Get Laid Lemonade" but I haven't had it in a while, good shit though...fucks you up really fast.

I just drinki beer. If I get a mixed drink it's vodka tonic or rum and coke half and half....

My Old Kentucky Home
4 parts bourbon
4 parts sweet tea

Serve on the rocks in an old fashioned glass. Garnish with a cherry.

The Feernie

Take a fifth of hard booze and chug. Chase with squirt.

My friends and I came up with this one night in a drunken stupor, so we still need to figure out exact measurements;

Faderstar
Red: Regular Blue Gatorade(Just drink enough out of the bottle until you get about to that point

Green: Smirnoff Vodka(Adjust levels of vodka accordingly to how trashed you want to be)

Purple: Top it off with regular Rockstar


If you do it right, you can't taste the vodka at all. The Gatorade keeps you hydrated to prevent hangovers and the Rockstar keeps you awake so you can enjoy the night.
