As fear and paranoia of the end of the world set in, I find myself worried most about losing all the things I've accumulated on my computer. I've had an old PC die on me before (as have most others, I'm sure), and I don't want to find myself losing the things I have now like I did then. I need to back up my files. With the end coming so soon, though, I've realized I'm really not too knowledgeable in the field. I've got more important things to focus on, like digging a bomb shelter. To summarize: if a catastrophic event were to happen tomorrow and my hard drive died, I want my shiz backed up.
I've just been reading through this. Now what; do I need something like this? What about copying files to a disc. Discs? If I got a new computer, could I easily load up all the files into that one? Two is better than one, especially with the impending chaos. If anyone out there can provide me with any information to get started, it'd be much appreciated. Don't assume I know anything, because I probably don't. Fill me in.
