I have been out of the technical loop for a while and as soon as summer begins I want to build myself a new computer.

I'm looking to spend around $1500 on everything, not including a monitor or speakers. I am looking for something DX10 and Vista compatible.

Any suggestions on parts would be appreciated.

Edit: I don't need a case/sound card

This would be more appropriate on the Computers and Technology Help board.

Moved.

What case/sound card do you have out of curiosity?

Thermaltake Tsunami case
Creative SOUND BLASTER X-Fi Platinum 7.1

I wouldn't mind getting a new case, since the front panel of the sound card is slightly too large and I cannot shut the front panel of the case completely. I'm going to try to sell my old parts, so if I could find someone willing to buy the case then I'll go ahead and get a new case.

What I'm looking at so far, which is basically that one link.

I dunno why the hell people still recommend the e6300 when the 6320 is out with double the cache :/

and I'd lose that 80 GB drive as well, just get another 500 or a 320 or something and make a small partition for the OS or whatever

Updated with the new processor and another hard drive. I wasn't entirely sure whether or not to get a small drive dedicated to my OS or to have a larger one and partition it. I might was well spend the couple of extra dollars to get a larger drive.

is a better cooler than the tuniq tower, but it's OOS everywhere. Don't forget you'll need to buy a fan though.
